not my mom and dad. when they split up, they used me as a messenger and I'd have to call one of them on the phone at the other one's house or walk to the other one's house if one wanted to tell the other one something.
mfw my mom yelled "TELL YOUR FATHER BLAH BLAH" on the other end of the phone whenever I called him.

I know that feel.

Parents got divorced when I was 5.

Now, it's this with step parents. It sucks balls.

Best time was when my parents started to get Divorce, I got a new ps2 and a xbox. My dad went out and got me my first truck. My mom went out and took me to a Airshow. My mom also started dating a boyfriend and he had a personal helicopter. I got to ride in it. Was awesome. Then they got back together and it all sucked again.

This made me more sad than happy because after my parents said they were getting a divorce there was a long and bitter court battle over child support and custody and what not.

I'm going to bed, I've had enough internet today.

Man I feel you. I, personally didn't go through that. But I saw my brother and sister get fought over and sent to foster homes which is the one of the scariest feelings. But they are perfectly happy now. You're going to make it. Even if it seems tough at first.

I think the kid should choose. what if he actually prefers one over the other? one of my friend's parents got divorced, he was forced to live with his mom until he decided enough was enough and took them back to court to make it so he could live with his dad.

When my parents split up I got jack **** . In fact, because the amount of money coming in reduced we had to move to a smaller house (And I live in England, where even the big houses are still pretty small) and I had to get a job.

My parens got divorced hmm 10years ago, neither one has never got together with somebody and they still live together... Altho they don't sleep together or act like a couple, rather weird still tho... xD
User avatar #311 to #291 - squiresparkle (06/01/2012) [-]
Yeah mine are like that... they haven't even technically divorced, they just don't live together, and my dad is round almost every weekend. I like it, it's just.... Strange

ridiculous. Divorce is far to common these days. its sad really. people assume when relationships get hard the only way to solve is to end it but its when you make it through the hardships that truly strengthens your love for eachother.

now a funny gif in exchange for my cheesey comment

Coupled with the fact that most people (Or Americans, at least) are convinced they've found 'the one' at 22 or 23, when they're too young to really know **** about love.
#335 to #328 - anon (06/01/2012) [-]
And one of those 'puppy-love'rs thumbed me down. It's the truth, people.
When you're young and in love, you're on the top of the world and you're ready to live your life with this person. But, as the divorce rate shows, you're probably wrong. Go out, date some more people, get some more experience, before you make a life-changing decision and then become part of a statistic.
It's like buying a car, you can't do too much research or have too much experience.

In addition, I've seen it happen with my own eyes.
My older brother is one of the nicest, most responsible yet most laidback people you'll ever meet. He fell in love with a nice, smart girl in high school, they dated for 4 years, got married when he was 21, and they were married for maybe a year before they started growing apart and she cheated on him for (literally) a hillbilly who lives in a trailer. Her own father was shocked that her standards had plummeted.
My brother is now dating again, and he's told us (The rest of my family) that he went too fast and started too early. That people need to enjoy life and go party, go on bunches of dates and whatnot when you're young, and save settling down and starting a family for when you're at least in your late-20s.
