The Fusion in the core makes the photons which makes the light. That takes some 30,000 year to reach the surface of the sun, which takes 8 minutes to get to each, light travel 5.8 trillion miles in a year.

That would imply that the sun is several millions times BIGGER than our solar system, if it was coming from the core (the center) and it took the light 30,000 years to reach the surface then the radius (distance from the middle of a sphere to the edge) would be 1.76091408 × 10^17 (aprox. 176,091,408,000,000,000 miles) This would make the sun's diameter 352,182,816,000,000,000 miles. The distance from the sun to Pluto is 3.5 billion miles, so obviously if your statement was true the sun would be much more massive than the solar system.

it takes 8 minutes from the surface of the sun to reach earth, but it takes some 30,000 years for the light to travel from the core of the sun to the surface.

By "light" I think he meant energy. Even then it can take up to millions of years to reach the surface from the core, although you're correct that a lot of it happens at the surface.

It means the energy created in the sun's core takes about 30 000 years to make its way to the surface of the sun because of the sun's density before being emitted as light, which you were right about, takes only 7-8 minutes

of course dinosaur farts were the major contributor to global warming back then, there wasn't anything else to contribute to it which could match the output of all the gassy dinosaurs
