Introducing the Brow Thank You Project
The Hub, Hasbro, and Media have given us a wonderful gilt that took the form tftwo entire seasons of ponies.
We' had some great times, formed some surprising friendships, and at least a few of us have learned some life
changing lessons along the way. Doesn' t it all make you want to say thank you? Doesn' t it make you want to give
something back?
Well, it turns out an enterprising somepony has already approached The Hub and asked if it would be to put
together a 30 second ad spot to air on their network. They responded by offering some very reasonable rates. And
that means the race is on for us to get the money get this thing put together and on television! I know
that there are many of you out there without a lot of money to spare, and it seems like every other day I' m directing
you at yet another good cause to dump money towards. But maybe there are some of you out there who have been
saving up for a custom plushie or a commission, and to those of you I ask, might this be a better use ifthat cash?
This is a chance for us to do something pretty unprecedented and get a voice out there from all of us to each of
them (and royally confused some six year olds in the process). There' s a pretty nice incentive package to go along
with whatever level of backing you choose to give. so check it out.

I saw on Twitter that at leasts one person donated $10,000. That leaves the rest to be an average of $69 per person. Also, The donations above have nothing to do with the Brony Thank You Project. The $63,319 is for a full-length documentary about bronies which is being made by John De Lancie.

In case you can't tell (FJ is a pretty crappy sample group), most bronies are wonderful. The creators/voice actors love us (Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, John De Lancie, and Lauren Faust have all said so) and several Hasbro executives are bronies.

You have no right to tell people what to spend their money on, and if you think you do, you should check yourself in to the nearest psychiatric ward. I donated $20 to a local band in my area so they could afford to create their 3rd album. I realize there are "better causes" that "need money" but I'm going to spend my money on what I want to spend it on, not what society and people like you tell me to spend it on.

If you have a problem with that, let me know and I would gladly engage in a calm debate with you. Have a nice day.

on the contrary, they have received enough criticism by those that don't understand them. i guess they need this so they can prove they aren't as bad as they are made out to be.

Well... I guess I'll give my two cents on the subject then.

Before Mr. De Lancie even considered the documentary, I wondered why people disliked the community so much. After a bit of time being a Brony, I realized that there are a few reasons to not like the fandom.

For one, there is A LOT of R34. Enough R34 that even moderate safesearch on Google Images doesn't block all of it. The parents of children who go on the internet at unknowingly search for "My Little Pony" without realizing this, are bombarded by nude pictures of their favorite characters - humanized and not. Although the parents should pay more attention to what their kids do, and it is as much their fault as the Cloppers who make the R34, the Bronies recieve the brunt of the assaults from people who see the wierd pictures, because anyone who posts anything about a pony these days is marked as a Brony.

Another subject is the gore pictures I see, and gore fanfics I've read. Although some are amazingly drawn and written, why would someone, especially a child, want to go online and see say... Pinkie Pie being ripped in half or Rainbow Dash being made into a cupcake? I don't know what term to give to people who create material like that, but either way, they fall into the same category as people who just enjoy the show.

Then there are extremists, people who do things like trying to convert neutrals into Bronies as if it was some kind of religion. They try forcing it down people's throats, and when the people start resenting MLP, they get mad and blame the haters for being "ignorant."

Those three types of people are the kinds that make many people hate us, and because of that, hate the show without a reason. Mr. De Lancie is being understanding here, and wants to find out why people like the show, and why people hate the fans. I would love to see this film made, but my only hope is that if he starts interviewing people, that he doesn't interview a bunch of Cloppers and such. That will make us look worse

okay, im not gonna check this argument out any more, so i leave with this. I love the fact that you are passionate about this money going to a better cause. but really, do something! if you come back with an idea for a way to raise money, i would love it, but if you really are upset, insulting bronies isnt helping anything. no im not a brony, just arguing so i can reason it out. thats what i do.

I'm not insulting anyone, I'm ATTACKING bronies, and more specifically those that I consider SCUMBAG BRONIES. I don't think my avatar makes it hard to guess what group I belong to.
But thank you for reasoning with me.

The first part talks about a "feature length documentary". The second part talks about a "30 second ad spot" (?)
I have found the second part herewww.equestriadaily.com/2012/05/introducing-brony-thank-you-project.ht ml
I have not found the first part.

I could be wrong but the post appears to be 2 pages put together. It's confusing.
Is it and if so then Why?

Since no one seems to be getting it, let me explain.
You can justify this all you want, but remember the reason this is being made. Specifically, the air time on tv. Naturally, most of the bronies watching would totally approve of it, but are THEY the target? Isn't the point to get more accepted by the general audience? Well then, try to think like the general audience and consider how they'll react to this. Is everyone absolutely certain the effect will be nothing but positive on your image? Frankly, I'm worried. I think they're gonna really, REALLY hate us.
