>Implying open office feels the same.

Have you tried open office? It's like drinking that cheap, flat, horrible supermarket cola instead of coke or pepsi... It feels awful to use because we all are so used to microsoft office.

Yep, but it gets the work done.
An alternative way would also be to use Hotmail (Word and all of that online for free).

there are many online word processors, also free ones..
the problem is, teachers want **** done their way, which is usually more effort to figure out on different software..
i personally use ibm lotus..

Yeah, sadly.. :/ but as fukkendragonite said, Google docs is the way forward, can't agree more. :)

I don't really need much softwares to do school projects and school related stuff in general though, but we're only allowed to use Word and PowerPoint mostly. Not saying they're bad softwares in any way.

Google docs, the way forward mate :P

Kind of talking about the different files, if you're a student, you're somehow just allowed to only work with word files and such with MS softwares, if not, alternatives as Open Office. Google docs is amazing though, but it's kind of prohibited in most schools. Great for personal use obviously. :)

Open Office is slightly outdated.
Try LibreOffice.
It's developed by some of the OO creators.
And works just as fine, or even better.

> Implying 99% of the torrents aren't pirated materials and they don't publicly laugh at people trying to shut them down
> Refer to 1
> Specific Laws like child porn maybe. They don't take down copyrighted materials though
> Open Office vs Microsoft Office (pirated). I wonder who will win that?

Torrenting in general is legal... What are you on about?
User avatar #52 to #2 - daelril (05/14/2012) [-]
As any file sharing method, torrenting was not originally illegal. None of them was. It's just the way people uses them that makes them illegal.

MS office is a waste of money. This is gonna get a **** tonne of red thumbs but I'd sooner write by hand than PAY for something that makes it easier.

actually in norway there is now law saying that you can't pirate things, it's only illegal to upload stuff but since we are not talking about norway this comment has no point whatsoever.
