kid is dying

kid says words said to someone who has never been proved to even exist are keeping him alive

doctor is douche

not main point

main point should be apparent

main point is that kid relies on words to keep him alive even though medicine is actually helping him

so you'll dismiss all the strange cases where human determination made the body fight against cancer and other diseases, diseases that medicine couldn't help, succeed in that attempt while miraculously healing itself, just because the person thought god was on their side?

Whether or not a persons mental state helps them fight their sickness, it doesn't do near as much for them as medicine and doctors. If their sickness is depression or some other mental thing, I can see where you are coming from, but the person would have to know that his/her family is praying for them in order for it to help. If the person does not know that he/she is being prayed for, they won't improve without the physical help of medicine or doctors.

why do you say he would have to know he was being prayed for.. for it to work? how do you know that?

Before I answer your question, remeber this. In the universe the characters live in, there is no god, but there is still religion. Now, to answer your question. Because it would give him hope to fight, a reason to fight, without a god to answer the prayers, the man will not get better. If he believes in a God, and knows people are praying for him, he will subconsciously begin to fight whatever illness he faces.

yes i know.. your mind is powerful. mine is powerful enough to realize this argument has been pointless for over 7000 years. i believe their could be a God. i still think your content is funny and i gave it a thumbs up. and this is the end of my side of the argument.
