Why do you prefer nostalgia over logic?
The battle mechanics and evolution methods have changed for the better and games are now a bit more than just E4 and 8gyms.

More pokemon = Bigger adventure.

I played since the start and it hurts to admit but many of the first 2 gens pokemon are **** competitively.

I played Red when it first came out too, but I don't think everyone should go OMG ITS NOT FIRST GEN ITS **** . True, new pokemon like Garbodor are **** , but so was Muk. Zangoose is pretty damn awesome and you should just accept that not all new pokemon are bad.

Muk **** ? How dare you.

i second that opinion, now let's be prepared to get redthumbed by all the young' uns.

Not just the "Young 'uns" I'm afraid. The 1st Generation Pokemon may have been the original ones, but most of the newer ones are just as good, some are better. A select few (Garbodor/Dunsparce/Feebas/etc) are crap, and everyone can agree, but don't hate on the newer ones because they're new. That's like killing a child because it's a child.

i just don't see the newer gens as fitting in the pokemon universe as much as the newer ones. People say 'yeah, one of your old ones' a pidgeon, nothing more' but the thing is that the newer gens to me seem more and more to look different and excentric to the point it strays too much away from the original concept of pokemon..Before, one was a rat, one was a snake, and 500 pokemon later one has to be table furniture to still seek to be different. I'm not saying i don't hate the designs (or gameplay, etc.) but the developers search for profit has made pokemon too mechanical in making squigglier and more eclectic pokemon, to the point the newest pokemon have nothing in common anymore with the old ones. On another topic, i don't agree with the developers' mutliplication of legendary pokemons again and again, one always stronger than the other, etc.

I hope i convinced you that i didn't kill that child just because it was a child but because i had found reasons to.

I can see your logic behind the reasoning. But, the whole reason they are getting more eccentric is because they are trying to appeal to wider audiences.

Also, they're running dangerously low on Ideas. Klink (Oh God Why?) is a decent example of this. It's called Klink, whereas in Japanese, it's name is Giaru. Why call it Klink, when Giaru sounds much more relatable to it's design?

I can understand some hate for the G5 pokemon, but with G3/4 it's a little more difficult. The designs were good (Camerupt & Lucario being my main examples of this) and the naming schemes were linked to their designs.

I hope this has cleared up any discrepancies between us, because I don't like arguing with fellow Pokemon Trainers.

Real pokemon fans don't hate on the new ones, just because they are all nostalfags.
Pokémon fans can see through some of the unoriginality of the newer generations.
And also actually see that a Voltorb is a reverse Pokéball. Ditto is a pile of goo that can transform. Geodude is a rock. Ekans is basically a snake, not to mention Arbok.
Keep hating all you want, you aren't a Pokémon fan, you're just a nostalfag who grew away from Pokémon.

sure, say all that after i make one sentence..

I would gladly write an entire A4 if necessary to make you see how narrow minded you are.

You are just being like those hating on ponies without ever having seen it.
It might look silly at first, but you can't judge without trying to see it from other perspectives.
User avatar #82 to #69 - herecomesjohnny (05/11/2012) [-]
uh..okay, dude, whatever you say, although i think you're the hater in this situation, i don't even hate the newer versions, i just consider their design too different to be associated with the same universe, so, uh..hate on, i guess?

you wont get thumbed down and you know it, this site is filled with nostalgiafags
