And behind the scenes, Bear Grylls gets good meals, showers, a bed to sleep on, in a ******* Hollywood trailer no less, desserts, etc. All the people that actually believe in these "reality" shows need to ******* get with the program. People that spend that much time in the wilderness without anything else look a lot sicklier, a lot skinnier, and a lot dirtier than they do on the show. And Grylls gets a harness too. It's called editing. They edit it out so it looks real. They don't want him dying, because idiots watch him on TV, think it's real, and give him good ratings. Yeah, he may know HOW to survive in the wilderness, but he doesn't really have to do it in practice anymore. All in all, Bear Grylls lives a pretty damn comfy life, funded by the British version of the Discovery Channel and supplemented with all the cash he's raking in for being a complete fake.
I don't doubt that he's done it before, as he was the first Briton to reach the summit of Mount Everest. But "surviving in the wilderness" on air. . . Purely publicity. Purely lining his pockets, and at night, he lays on a ******* TempurPedic or waterbed mattress, saying "Suckers" knowing he's set for life. He's not actually surviving himself this time. And honestly, I doubt that what he's drinking is even his own piss. They probably substitute it with lemonade right before he drinks it, or something. There's NO way that ANYONE is that healthy, unless they have a food/drink supply, and good rest on the side.

On a greater scale, he is surviving. What is this world but a giant Jungle filled with danger?

He shares some of the food with the camera crew sometimes and so what if it's fake?

You don't have to watch it thinking it's real to enjoy it. It'd be sadistic to watch it as much as he is out there. Props to himf or actually eating the disgusting **** he eats and doing the disgusting things he does. Who knows, it might even save someone one day. Discovery is great for learning stuff even though it might be fake. A boy was saved from an avalanche because he had watched discovery and knew what to do in such a situation.

i did see a "behind the scenes things and although he is more comfertable than he let's on, he still has to resort to drinking his own piss (much to his camera crews disgust) and such.

Why would someone have to drink their own piss unless they really were alone in the wilderness?
