Is it just me or does it look like a spaceship colliding with a giant galactic vagina?

technically this is correct considering Antarctica is north and the Arctic is south. since north and south are not based on direction, but magnetic bearing, we are actually looking at the globe upside down.

remember North is attracted to south, so when a compass needles north end points north, its attracted to a south pole. and in space there is no up or down so technically Australia is right side up and we are all upside down.

when i learned this in university physics class, i shat bricks.

This is actually literally the way our world is. The so called "North Pole" is actually the magnetic South Pole and the so called "South Pole" is actually the magnetic North Pole. Basically the world is upside down. Relatively speaking of course because there is no true perspective in space.

but what if this is the correct way to view earth from space but the astronauts were upside down?

What if the world is really upside down and we were viewing it the wrong way the whole time.

I don't get it, why does a map have so many thumbs?

I've actually seen upside-down maps like that. IIRC the purpose is to emphasize how much of the earth is water, since we're used to looking at the top half of a map (since normally oriented, that's where most of the land is).

Does anyone else think the map makes more sense that way?
