The last time I went to the grocery store, I was with my grandma and she bought beer. They STILL asked for her ID. it's just protocol.

You must not have read my post closely enough. Let me reiterate using caps to highlight the main point.

>cashier DOES THEIR JOB BY ASKING YOU FOR YOUR ID
>assumes that you're blind

I've seen people in their mid twenties that look like they're in their teens, and I've seen people in their teens that look like they're in their twenties. That's why cashiers are told to card anyone who looks under a certain age, so as to prevent the sale to minors.

Depends on where you are, but I know some states are required to ask for an ID up until the person looks older than 35, just to make sure

yeah sure, well it used to be challenge 21 but it basically means that the cashiers/bar staff are told to ID people if they look 25 or 21
which i think is stupid seeing as the legal ages for beer and cigs is 18 and for the lottery its only 16

Im sure the age is 21 or 25 just that make certain. It's easier to say that a 25 year old isnt 18 than to judge a 19 year old as not 18
