Bottom line it's just an opinion. There really is no point in fighting about it.

The existence of god is not opinion-based. Going off what destismad said, there either is a god or there isn't. Somebody is wrong. And considering religion is one of the most influential aspects on human life and is heavily controversial, I see no reason not to talk about it.

We shouldn't fight over opinions?

You must be... what... some sort of genius?

Actually, no, this stuff is not opinion-based at all. One side is right and one side is wrong, that's simply it. And one side happens to have more evidence for their claims than the other. Knowledge above faith.

And that argument is heavily flawed. If you have more evidence, could it be because God is giving you the evidence you want? I am not a theist, but I am in a Philosophy of Religion class right now, and I have to think about this kind of thing. You can't use natural evidence to prove or disprove the supernatural. It's counterproductive.

Sadly, I can't go into a whole bunch of stuff on the subject with you, as honestly I'm not very knowledgable on religions, just on Christianity. Though I can say this as an example: the Bible mentions nothing about evolution, simply that God created all the animals within a day or two. Also, people always say this is a "loving God", so why would he be trying to trick us into not believing he exists just so he could send us to Hell? Doesn't seem very logical to me.

There you go again. Logic. Of course it's not logical, because it's God! It's not logically possible to explain that Eve was created through the rib of Adam, because there is no such logic. Key word: Supernatural. It can't be explained. And there is such a thing as the wrath of God. And if you are atheist already, does it matter if he makes it easier for you to explain you position on Earth, and not care when you go to Hell? I have alot more experience in the field of arguing religion. This is actually the first time I argued "for" religion, in a sense. We honestly will never know, and when we do, we will have to question everything then too. I don't know why it's such a huge issue either.
