It fascinates me as to how most people can hate on Christianity by inventing their own version of Hell.

I mean, if you're going to insult Christians, don't use your own definition of Hell to do that. That just doesn't make sense.

Pic related; it's an artists's interpretation of Hell, but we define it as much worse than simply boiling in a swamp for ever.

Isn't the only bible interpretation of hell just that it is fire? Fire and nothing else.

Leawesomesauce has the right idea, but he didn't mention what it all entails.

From the Christian point of view (which you must assuming when you make fun of it's logic), nothing good will happen without God's love. You could never understand what it would be like to be totally rejected by God because He's always with you to a certain extent. Anything enjoyable comes from God, so in Hell there wouldn't be food, sex, or scientists doing anything aside from get tortured.

So it's a whole lot more than "just fire" and, although I enjoyed Dante's Inferno, I can't take it seriously because it paints Hell as too nice a place for those who haven't done anything but sin.

fire and brimstone and a complete cutoff from the love of God, it's also described as utter darkness filled with weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Because people are talking about religion... I get pissed off when people claim that their religion is "more correct" then another persons religion. No religions are provable, and all religions have very weak basis in fact. I believe that the probability of there being no god is just as likely as the Christian religion being correct, or Islam being correct, or any other religion being correct. There is no definitive way to prove that your religion is correct, and other people's religion is incorrect.

TL;DR: All views about god have very little basis in fact, and they are all equally likely in being legitimate.

it fascinates me as to how most christians completely disregard their bibles, old testament, and new testament, and even the real word of their god in favour for their own ideals and expectations.

i mean, if you're going to be christian, don't follow your own ideals of what you THINK god wants you to want. that just doesn't make sense

no pic related; but whatev's

Yeah, it's depressing. Technically they wouldn't be Christians if they aren't living for Christ, and you can only do that by following the word of God.

So even though they might call themselves Christians, they aren't 'saved' the way the Bible talks about it.

indeed they are not. even as a Satanist, i do not hate on christians; in fact i admire them when they focus upon love and peace and use the religion to better themselves. it's simply the hypocrisy that most people carry with it that rustles my jimmies

but you have to leave leway for the changing of time and custom, when the bible was written they didnt have as many temptations as today, there are alot of rules in the bible, but there are things in the gray area that the bible doesnt have rules for or against. this is called audiaphora(spelling?) wherein the christian must make an educated guess as to what God would want him to do.

indeed you are correct my fair fellow, and i heartily agree; however, some things are clearly laid out in black and white (those who shave their sideburns shall be put to death), there's not really much you can interpret out of that other then what's at face value :P

even gluttony is one of the 7 deadly sins, and is punishable with death; yet the whole of America is christian and obese

rebuttal 1. you make a good point well and true, however you are referring to an old testament law, when Jesus came down, lived a perfect life and died for our sins he abolished the laws of the old testament (for the sake that you can read and provide counter i reference Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15). basically that God, knowing that we sinful humans could not possibly live up to his high standards, sent his son to fulfill the standards in our place, and suffer our punishment. thus ending the need to follow the old testament laws, instead placing our faith and trust in Christ.

rebutal 2. the 7 deadly sins aren't, to my knowledge, biblical. they're more poetic. and to say "the whole of America is christian and obese) is just ignorant. to my dissmay a large majority of America is no longer founded in the Christian faith, and 2 we arent all obese, that's a stereotype, just like we think all brits have crooked teeth, or all french ppl are pussies......well....maybe that last one is true......

but even if that is so, in the new testament jesus was quite a mean individual. saying anyone who loves his own family more then jesus is not worthy of jesus and other things. he also supported slavery; the point being is that there are still quite a few rules outlined in black and white that must be followed otherwise you are to be put to death.

well then i apologize for following an average stereotype. however, i have seen many statistics and even been to America myself; and i can say that there are far more overweight people there than there are in Canada. (as there are far more christians in America too). that's all i was trying to get at
