These are deaths shown on screen.

Seems like I must be the one to educate all you maggots.
Body count in movies means all the ON SCREEN deaths.

Boromir dies = 1 body count

If someone just had SAID "hurr durr Boromir died last night" = NOT a body count.

In the particular movie Knowing:
All the people that burned to death from the plane crash = counts
All those chrushed by the subway train = counts
That stupid annoying female main cast who dies = counts
Planet blowing up, all presumed dead = DOES NOT COUNT TOWARDS BODY COUNT

Therefore, Return of the King has the highest body count

Why not? You see the atmosphere disintegrate, therefore its on screen. humans cant survive without the atmosphere so its safe to say they died.

Technically speaking yes, but the definition of body count in movies are the actual bodies that can be seen. If you see an helicopter explode in the distance, one would presume that people died, but since you didnt see the actual corpses, it won't count.
Simple as that.

Yet you just said the people in the plane crash count. So why doesn't a chopper crash count? YOU GOT SOMETHING AGAINST CHOPPERS MAN?
User avatar #32 to #22 - trandhal (04/25/2012) [-]
Ergh, perhaps I was a bit unclear. In the movie Knowing, people run around outside the chrashed plane, burning and dying, on screen. Those count toward total body count.
But the people inside the plane, that obviously are dead, but who you can't see on screen, don't count.
