Read the illustrated movie companion - a lot was removed because otherwise the film would be WAY too long!

There are no rules against spoiling book to film adaptations if you ask me. If they haven't read the book, then they obviously don't care about the plot.
User avatar #85 to #19 - SniperKitty (04/21/2012) [-]
Orrrr they didn't know there was a book until the movie came out and are now in the middle of reading the books?
User avatar #86 to #85 - whitcher (04/21/2012) [-]
The movies are announced and hyped months and months before they come out. That leaves plenty of time to read the books.
User avatar #88 to #86 - SniperKitty (04/21/2012) [-]
And you could also be a person who doesn't really care to read up movie reviews and looks up movies coming up months in advance, and just goes to see movies that look good when the previews show up on TV... if you even watch TV that is
User avatar #102 to #88 - whitcher (04/21/2012) [-]
Previews stil come up with plenty of time to spare. But we're going round in circles now so lets just agree to disagree.

I just remember when at the end of that scene he says "I like you" in a suggestive manner. At that moment all the damn kids in the audience just start laughing like retards.

User avatar #4 to #2 - rdangerdash (04/21/2012) [-]
When I went to see it some kids started clapping when the black dude killed that bitch. I guess that was kind of appropriate but then one of them yelled out "Good Cunt" and then it just evolved into annoying laughter.

You people still compare the Hunger Games to Battle Royale? The Hunger Games uses its ritual killings as the same way BR uses its killings to terrorize the people buy the games glamorize it. They were completely different. The main plot of the Games is Girl volunteers for games to save sister, Ends up starting rebellions, rebel leaders end up using Girl as symbol to stage a coup on the entire damn system. Ends up overthrowing a government. Don't judge a series by what little information the first book gives you and immediately group it will something else you loved and hate the other for having similar tropes. I mean you like the Lion King didn't you? Why not bash Disney for copying Hamlet?
#119 to #113 - anon (04/21/2012) [-]
I totally agree.

I read all three books in the space of two weeks (would have read them quicker, but I'm really busy) and have seen the movie three times. My friend even stated it's the most unique thing he's seen. I can see the concept of put a bunch of teenagers together and make them fight to the death is similar in both these stories, but really they ARE different. In The Hunger Games, they do it annually as a TV show. 75 times in total before it's ended permanently. And the story of course starting off with Katniss, and telling of her story as she took down the Capitol. I absolutely love the books. Also, it of course being glamorized like you said. The Capital watching it, not really taking into consideration how these teenagers' families are affected. The best thing about The Hunger Games, is that it isn't really cliche. A lot of characters die, relationships not working out, and being more realistic in the way they are affected (especially Katniss and Finnick) after the 75th Hunger Games.

She ******* screams at buttercup when he returns to the Victors Village "She's Dead!"

Enough evidence for me, not even counting how far Katniss was from the group of kids and how badly burned she got, when Prim was in the group.

We need nudes of the chick that played Katniss Everdeen in the movie damn it!
