It's funny because bassists have to do the same thing except with the frets 1/3 larger than a guitar's.

I have never seen him speak... and I have a theory that he simply skipped learning to speak and played the bass instead.

Bassists can use chords as well, not to mention that most of the licks/octaves are harder than on a guitar. A bassist who just hits 1/8ths while the guitarist is doing chords is a failed bassist.

While you're doing your chords, a bassist does formulas, octaves, licks, slides and the others.

But who gives a ****, you get the bitches.

I dare you say again that bassist don't get women!

For the guitarist, it's just the "looking awesome" thing. Mostly only men appreciate a guitarist's work

But for the bassist.... it's the low frequency of the notes that envelops their G-Spot and pounds it like a jackhammer... the bass is what actually gets women wet!

And the strings are much harder on your picking hand, especially if you use your fingers...I'm a guitar player and I agree whole heartedly!

Fellow bassist here. It's even more annoying when the band's guitarist is trying to show me a riff and his hands are stretching from the 3rd fret to the 7th. My fingers can barely stretch to the 6th. -_-

The worst thing is when he's playing a riff with 1/16ths and I can't do it using fingerstyle because I'm not Billy Sheehan, so I have to switch to a ******* pick, thus ruining the tone.

I can make 3rd to 6th on my bass,... wihich iin distance is about the same or even more than 3rd to 7th on a guitar, I don't see your point...

Because I'm not a guitarist, so when the guitarist is on the 7th fret, I shouldn't be on the 6th on a bass...

Is he playing a chord which you have to mimic? Cause if he's not 3 to 7 index/pinkie jump should be pretty manageable.

You should be able to get away with just, not doing the chord...

That, or extreme dexterity training. Wouldn't work for me, I just have short fingers.

Of course, I don't mean that I actually intend on doing it, it's just the expectation a guitarist has on a bassist to be able to replicate stuff like that when it's just ergonomically impossible.
