I started watching since Eccleston took over in 2005. Doctor Who has the be one of the best shows the BBC has ever produced (alongside Sherlock) The last three Doctors were amazing - but Tennant, Tennant was the most flamboyant and fitting for the role.

One thing I ask of American TV producers - only one thing. Do not try to Americanize the show. Please. There has been rumours of an American Doctor Who.
Seriously, if that happens, my jimmies will be extremely rustled.

The styles of humor would be totally different. You're right, if Americanized it wouldn't be as witty.

euugh...
I'm American and if they try to Americanize Doctor Who... just...
just no.

The Eighth Doctor TV-film was a shot at Americanization, sort of.

I mean, it was gonna move from britain to America.

It was shot down fast, and that's why we only have one occurence of the Eighth Doctor.

Who was the ************ that thumded down THE DOCTOR?? Thumbed that **** up like a Cyberman and said DELETE.
User avatar #88 to #1 - fernand (04/17/2012) [-]
I didn't but come on; The Doctor can travel any where and anyWHEN in the UNIVERSE yet... he's always in modern day England...
User avatar #154 to #88 - Lloydles (04/17/2012) [-]
what about the House? or The Crucible? Or going back to WW2? Or the midnight planet? Or the Library? I could go on...
#173 to #154 - fernand (04/17/2012) [-]
Ahh, I knew someone would do this. Don't you see? Those episodes are so rare you can remember and list them...
User avatar #178 to #173 - raikenzx **User deleted account** (04/18/2012) [-]
The doctor always protects modern day England because that's where his companions come from and because his interactions and traveling to those points he causes alot of attention for Earth which is why he has to step in and save it so much during the many modern episodes. It's really fifty fifty with how often he's in modern society and other various points in time and space really.
User avatar #187 to #173 - Lloydles (04/18/2012) [-]
'I could go on...' implies there's more than just those.
User avatar #189 to #187 - fernand (04/18/2012) [-]
Only a few more.

Both episodes where they go to New Earth (David Tennant) and the one where earth is destroyed (Christopher Eccleston) makes three right there.

When the doctor, or any Timelord, regenerates, every cell in their body is essentially refreshed, so yes, he should look younger as regenerations progress.
Fun fact, the first doctor is the only one that didn't die violently, his body just wore out.
User avatar #19 to #15 - KayThanxBye (04/17/2012) [-]
no he regenerates into a new body everytime he dies, the producers are using the doctor to target the girls, and using the companion to target the boys. brilliant planning

User avatar #26 to #19 - miamimonster (04/17/2012) [-]
I don't know about the rest of you, but David Tennant targeted all audiences, even guys, so dreamy haha. I can see why Amy was chosen though, stunning.
#37 to #26 - urapooper (04/17/2012) [-]
Nope David Tenant was definitely targeted for girls....

well i suppose the image of the doctor didnt mean as much in the early years, it was all about the storyline back then.

oh i highly suggest you do, its awesome

personaly, david tennant will allways be my favorite doctor ^.^
User avatar #69 to #25 - graphenz (04/17/2012) [-]
Yes Tennant, he won my heart in the one where he goes to see the crystal thingy, can't exactly remember the destination, but it's a leisure cruise. He sabotages all the entertainment and when asked "What are we supposed to do know" he says: "how about we just talk, you know have a conversation?" ... or somewhere along those lines :P

Just the general weeping angels, the idea behind them etc.
#140 to #81 - geraldbostock (04/17/2012) [-]
They were scary in Blink and Time of Angels, but they ruined them in Flesh and Stone. Though I suppose the fan-canon that suggests that we only see them move because they're moving in between the frames in the video almost saved them for me.

david tennant ( 10th doctor ) was by far the best:

fact: in a "behind the scenes show" it is reavealed that david actually has a really scottish accent :O

oh yeah there's no doubt about it.hey you know, funny story, a couple of days ago i was watching (agatha christie's) Poirot. and one of the suspects was Christopher Eccleston (the ninth doctor) i coincedentally saw it after i saw this post.funny how when something comes up it usually repeats its self in the following week.
