that idea is called Solipsism
people question reality and therefore the existence of mankind.
i mean sometimes dreams feel realer than reality
so how do you know when your senses are lying to you?

It's understandable.

Look at the door closest to you, and try to remember that other side of that door.
You may have walked through that door everyday of your life and know every splinter and crack in it, but the existence of the other side of that door is completely subjective.

To prove this to yourself, think:
-Although it isn't likely, someone could have painted the other side of the door.
-There may be a bug sitting on the handle.
-What if there is a person standing on the other side of the door?

Any discontinuity with your perception of the other side of the door and its true appearance creates a grey area in the existence of the other side of the door.

We live in a Three-Dimensional world, but we can only experience Two-Dimensional shapes at any given moment of time. Even if an object is see-through or you have a mirror at your disposal, you never can truly see the other side of an object until you rotate yourself, and once you do that you lose visual contact with the other side of the object.

The only other way to help explain this theory is to think of one of your teachers. Where are they right now? What do they look like? How tall; how heavy are they? Although you may answer every question correctly, you are only mentally imaging their surroundings and features to the best of your knowledge.

Considering all of this, it would still be rather strange to look someone dead in the eye and question their reality.

Here's a mind-blowing thing to think about.

There is a certain void of nonexistence. In other words, there is a void in which people or things could have existed, but they don't. At any given point of time- past, present, and future- there is always a possibility of a specific person existing; however, they don't. These people are forever stuck in this void, even though they have never existed, but they COULD have existed, but it will never be possible for them to EVER exist. All of us- you, me, and everyone else out there- could have been part of this void, but by some miraculous stroke of luck, we were given the opportunity to exist. The possible people- not so much.

It can all come down to science; who your mother and father are, how they met, when they met, what factors could have deterred or compelled them to copulate and conceive you, all of the other sperm cells that could have been faster than yours, etc.

However, it is still MIND BLOWING (to me, anyways) to think that we actually EXIST, we exist in place of another human being that doesn't exist. Even though there was the possibility that the person wouldn't have existed in the first place, there was also that same possibility that we wouldn't exist in the first place. But me and everyone reading this DOES exist. Now, i really don't want to come off as a religionfag, but this is compelling enough reason for me to accept that there is a higher power at work; God, Allah, Buddha, Jehova, whoever; I believe that some one is at work making this happen.
