War is declared.
Everybody says **** you Im not going to war
Nobody dies.
No more war.
User avatar #7 to #5 - geranemo [OP]**User deleted account** (04/10/2012) [-]
ever think i decided to join for more than war? think about that, it is just 1 of my jobs.
User avatar #8 to #7 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
Lol yeah thats so genius. I need money...hmm I should go kill people for money...But damn being an assassin is illegal.
Army here I come.
You see whats really funny?
I might get a few red thumbs.
You might get a bullet shot through your skull.
#10 to #8 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
and what's even more funny? he's working hard to earn a place in this world while you're sitting safe at a computer bitching at him for protecting your sorry ass. Geranemo, good luck and thank you for your service. Fogschmog, just go jump in a ditch or something.
User avatar #19 to #10 - herecomesjohnny (04/10/2012) [-]
Dude, for all you know that commentor may be a male nurse, or a surgeon. And he's got a point. Working hard is not enough, it's what you work hard for.
User avatar #21 to #19 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
and the soldiers are working hard for my protection, so I want to make damn sure they get the respect that they deserve.
User avatar #22 to #21 - herecomesjohnny (04/10/2012) [-]
that's a bit selfish, no, since they're also working hard for less protection of others.
User avatar #25 to #22 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
well, excuse me. next time when there is a terrorist attack, we'll just let it slide
User avatar #30 to #25 - herecomesjohnny (04/10/2012) [-]
terrorism is in most cases the result of war itself. As in the French Occupation, as in the American Revolution, etc. Al Qaeda themselves just didn't want to let slide American occupancy.

Look, you revere what you wish, but i'd rather be a homeless bum all my life, never amounting to anything, disaapointing my parents and being the shame of my kids, rather than having to press that button or trigger that kills a human being.
User avatar #31 to #30 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
well, that is your decision, and i will respect that, but you should also respect what it is soldiers do. I'm not saying you need to love them, you don't need to donate to them, to join them, or house them or anything, just don't talk **** .
User avatar #34 to #31 - herecomesjohnny (04/10/2012) [-]
Sorry, i'm afraid i'll never be able to respect war. I'll never respect the industry, the culture, the shiny medals and trinkets. I know so many others who look up to soldiers and pilots and sailors, but i can't help myself from pitying them, for what they keep thinking is noble and valorous is actually the result of the darkest side of society. I'll never respect soldiers, that other commentor was right, whereas a mercenary fights for someone, the soldier fights for institutions. Institutions which can't manage to expand through peace. The soldier is the imperfect government's crutch, the man trying to fix things with all the wrong tools, yet being taught to be proud of the wreck he causes. We cover it all up, behind beaming uniforms and awards and commendations and legacy, however we all do our best to ignore that the ideas we fight for are worth more than human life.

That is the true definition of the soldier, the living and dead proof that one man's ideas are worth more than another man's life in his own eyes.

well, we are just going to have to agree to disagree then
User avatar #40 to #36 - herecomesjohnny (04/10/2012) [-]
That's it? That's your answer? That kid may very well end up shipped to some godforsaken land and end up hurt -or god forbid, worse- because an institution considers its objectives more important than this kid's life, and all you can say is "we are just going to have to agree to disagree then''? I don't know what's going to happen to him, but he may see some terrible things, things that will never leave him for the rest of his life, things that just can't wash off in the shower. He's going to lose his youth and maybe his joy, and when someone points out the ones who'll have made him like this, you're saying ''we are just going to have to agree to disagree then''?
Look at the picture, look at the ******* picture! For all I know it may end up -god forbid- on a tombstone one day, traded in for a posthumous medal. Or maybe he'll be alive, and he'll be showing it to other people, saying ''i used to look like this, before that fateful mission".
And when i ask you why couldn't your government spare him, you'll just tell me to **** off?
User avatar #41 to #40 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
oh, right, you. i got bored, so i left, i'm just going to ignore you now

They also glorified the german soldiers in WW2 of course just the germans did. You glorify your soldiers in Iraq vietnam afgahnistan, of cousr just you do. What I wanna say i, that if noone (the other soldiers as well and the other countries soldiers as well) wouldnt go to war, he wouldnt have to die to protect me. He could just do something productive. Tell me what is the product of war? What does war gain? Nothing. It just takes. It takes lifes and afterwards it taskes money and resources from the losing party to make up for the losses of the winning party. Nobody wins a war. there is just a guy that would never have to go to war, that now owns even more, while you pooorfags sit there with a leg or an eye missing, living off of welfare because you cant work anymore. How stupid can you seriously be? Tell me one goddamn thing war ever made better? (AND NO IT DIDNT ******* STOP HITLER; war brought you hitler. without the debthcrisis in germany after WW1 the possibility of someone with the stupid agenda like hitler, getting powerful would have been faaaar less decreased[thats a historical fact accepted by most historicans]) I hate war because people like you, people like him, go out deceived by ropaganda, thinking they would do something good. Thinking they will help someone, thinking they are patriots. and in the end they are just puppets to their masters, running blindly into bullets. And it makes me sorry to see that, it hurts me.
War is coming, said the grim reaper, threw away his scythe and got on the lawn mower.
It makes me sad.

your pic, i get it, and it's smart
User avatar #14 to #12 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
that is a very good point you bring up, but have you considered the fact that humanity has already ****** up beyond repair and now the only way to maintain peace from others is to have soldiers to protect us? Everyone knows war is bad, and everyone wants peace, but you need to understand everyone has different ideals of what peace is. To some, peace is to simply put the weapons down and just chill out. to others, peace is to eliminate all those who disagree with them. We need soldiers, whether you like it or not
User avatar #17 to #14 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
Soo from your standpoint, I should kill you and you should kill me? And that would be a good idea? Fromy our standpoint, to bring peace to society, we should kill every theft, every one downloading illegal copies on the internet, everyone who votes another candidate than you? Everyone who doesnt believe in what you believe in?
Who thought this was a good idea again? Forgot the name, but I think it was some austrian guy.
And furthermore, in your opinion, who should be able to make the decisions? SHould we have a battle royal and the winner decides what is right and what is wrong? You say you are a patriot...dont you believe in democracy? Because that opinion, simply is facist.

And if you dont believe that is how things should be dealt with...well you support my idea of put the weapons down. So why would you support war?
Either you are stupid beyond repair. Or purified evil.
User avatar #23 to #17 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
I think you misinterpret my stance on this. I DO NOT support war. no one should. I recognize it for what it is, ugly and inhumane. however, I DO support my military and what they do for me. If you have a problem, you should take it to the people that declare the wars and send others to die for them while they sit safe in their offices, but do not talk down on the ones who volunteer to go to war so you don't have to. Unless you have carried a rifle into combat, you are in no position to look down on them
#26 to #23 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
I do not support war. I support the people that go to war....
Bring it to the people that declare the war....
1. the people declaring the war NEVER go to war...they sit (well payed by your so hard earned money) in sweet chairs and talk ******** all day long
2. Who started the war??? Who did? Who declared war on iraq, iran, afghanistan?
Oh btw, just to amke you rage a bit
Im a german.
User avatar #28 to #26 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
Alright, hate the American government, just not the soldiers. oh, btw, I don't care that you're german
User avatar #29 to #28 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
The soldiers are supporting the american government...thats like saying hate hitler but leave the nazis alone...
User avatar #32 to #29 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
so you're saying that the soldiers should just quite and leave their country unprotected just because you disagree with them. look, these soldiers are doing what they feel they need to do, they don't like it, but they have to do it. hell, a lot of nazi soldiers didn't want the war, they were just doing what they were told.
User avatar #33 to #32 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
EXACTLYYYYY...EXACTLY EXACTLY oh my god I cannot emphasize this enough YOU ARE SO ******* RIGHT. They just did what they were told to. If they hadnt, the would be a lot people still alive. If they hadnt, there wouldnt be so many jews that have been killed int he most dehumanizing ways you can imagine (and worse for that matter).
Soldiers dont aks why, nor what, nor how. They just ask where and who. And that is the problem. That they are taught to be monoric idiots just doing what they are told without thinking. Mindless ******* puppets. And I am saying that if ALL THE SOLDIERS ALL OVER THE WORLD (im not screaming just trying to give importance to this) would STAY THE **** OUT OF WAR...there would be no reason to ******* protect me.
User avatar #35 to #33 - aproudpatriot (04/10/2012) [-]
alright, alright. I think we got off to a bad start then. I agree with you, if EVERYONE would just chill out, then there would be no problem. The problem is that everyone is NOT willing to do that.
#37 to #35 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
Just as the guy you just tried to so heroicly defend from my bad bad opinion...
<this is ******* war...I will get flagged/banned and thumbed down for this. And this is the problem. As long as it is BF3 and COD1737123 its all fine, but when there is real war, we have to close our eyes. We are not shown the slaughterhouse, so we wont stop eating meat (not a vegan have seen the slaughterhouse, prefer now to buy my meat off a local farm)

well, I would rebuttal that first sentence, but I know that if i do, we are just going to go back in a circle. so we're just going to have to agree to disagree/agree.
User avatar #39 to #38 - fogschmog (04/10/2012) [-]
Well I am willing to cut out the first sentence, thats fine for me, it was something I said about your motivation and your opinion, therefore I have to believe you on wether or not it is true.

(without the debth crisis after ww1 the possibility of hitler achieving power and being voted would have been decreased by a lot)*
