This is quintet.
Five galaxies so close they
kiitti' " i', almost colliding.
Pretty cool, huh?
and that' s an older image [rotated].
Can you see that big green thing in
the middle? What would that be?
Take a look at this First.
A plane breaking the sound
barrier. A allt' , , known as
mach cone".
yes. That green thing up
there is a SHOCKWAVE the size of
Milky Way in intergalactic gas
tall by one of the galaxies
falling into the center of the group
at millions of km , h
If you don' t know how big that is, l galaxy has l
trillion suns separated by distances so huge light
takes years to travel from one another. That
shockwave is incomprehensible larger than
anything in Dragon Ball, but is totally real]
So, to all the people who '?,

I'm just baffled by the idiocy of the guestimated numbers. Trillions of stars? No, sorry, the largest galaxy known only harnesses an estimate of a few hundred million stars. The entire local group probably doesn't even top 2 Trillion.

Peace, stoner bastards.
#14 to #10 - nevernever (04/08/2012) [-]
Well the milky way has 300,000,000,000 stars roughly estimated in it by scientists, according to some scales that's only 1 point (trillion = 1,000,000,000,000) and the milky way isn't even considered a "large (dense? meh)" galaxy.

So yeah maybe not that far off.

I saw a smiley face and thought, "Aww that's neat." Then I scrolled down to see a plane and more words and thought, "What the **** , I thought it was over."

We won't be able to hear their annoying complaints anyway because sound doesn't travel in a vacuum.
User avatar #30 to #21 - AirForceGuy (04/08/2012) [-]
Slightly correct. Sound is just pressure waves. If you stuck your ear there, the sound would be so itntense it would blow out your ear drum. And your whole body, but that's not the point.

Milkyway is approx. 100000 to 120000 light years wide.

Number 2 in the 2nd image looks like a smiley. :)
