I have heard great things about Sennheisers, and I'm considering getting a pair, but I have other expenses coming up that I have to worry about (car insurance, college costs, etc.), so yeah... First world problems...

I'm looking for some headphones and I contemplated skullcandies once...

Any suggestions for around $40-100, £30-76?

IMO beats are like macs, not a bad product overall but horrifically overpriced

nononono the beats aren't bad. they're very amazing. I have the beats solo hd headphones with 256kbps .alac's and 320 kbps mp3s on my ipod touch 4th gen and it sounds pretty damn good to me. I ain't saying they''re the best damn thing in the world, but they are not horrible. just expensive.

well, let me rephrase it: if you like the way they sound, youre gonna have a good time with them.

but then, if youre looking for some headphones which actually play music like it really is, you should look for something else. shure is definitely a good adress, beyerdynamics, even koss has some med-priced gems out there.

obviously your music has no high tones because the high tones on beats sound like nails on a chalkboard.
also they break really easily.

long time to respond but no, they don't break easily. I've had mine since may 23rd (bday) in 2010.

if it's through an ipod then the sound was low because the're isn't enough power, most good headphones will have a low max output through ipods
