In 2003, Richard John "Rick" Santorum's anti same-sex marriage remarks drew a retaliatory response from gay rights activist Dan Savage, who launched a contest to coin a "santorum" neologism among his blog's readers. The outcome was a definition pertaining to anal sex and since 2004, the website Savage set up for the campaign has regularly been among the top search results for Santorum's surname.

Talk about your "mudslinging" journalism.

Santorum has lost the race. All the redneck states that vote for him are over with and Romney still has 3 times his delegates. Nobody wants to call it yet because he's good pundit fodder.

There's a difference between planning things and bragging about them. If I plan to do something, I don't tell everyone about it. He expects to get a second term, but he isn't even taking into account the fact that he won't even get a first term.

People on this site seem to be under the impression that it's Santorum vs Obama in November. Meanwhile he's a complete joke that didn't even come close to the nomination. Romney has 3 times his delegates and he's about to get destroyed in his home state's primary.

Santorum is a nutjob that only made it this far because the redneck states get to vote first and because democrats voted for him to try to screw over the race.
#91 to #48 - John Cena (04/05/2012) [-]
Southern states are the largest percentage of voters, unfortunately.

Santorum might have lost the race for nomination, but BECAUSE so many rednecks in the south love him, he might make the perfect candidate for the republicans to nominate as VP.

Do you really want a nutjob like that in charge of the Senate? Because that's basically the VP's job, other than wait around for the president to be incapacitated/killed.
User avatar #55 to #48 - SniperKitty (04/05/2012) [-]
ALL the republicans are nut jobs....
#144 to #55 - I Am Monkey (04/06/2012) [-]
"ALL Republicans"? Romney is the nominee and his biggest criticism is that he's too moderate.

It's just a sad fact of life that nutjobs get the most attention, this is just as true in politics. Case in point: Bachmann, Santorum, and Limbaugh are all nutjobs that you hear about constantly in the media. However, in the grand scheme of things they have no impact. It's the leadership that matters, but they get little notice in the news. Look at John Boehner, he's the House Majority leader and a pretty stand up guy, but you don't hear crap about him. Because he doesn't make republicans look bad, so it's not news. If the media gave equal coverage to the nuts on the left I'm sure you'd think the same of them.
User avatar #146 to #144 - SniperKitty (04/06/2012) [-]
He's also not running to become president... Romney is going to be up against Obama... and he IS a nutjob, I figured we were just talking about the ones running, in which case they are. I know there are republicans out there that aren't completely stupid.

Yea you're right. Obama putting us into more debt than all the other presidents combined really helps doesn't it? Republicans are the ones trying to get a budget passed. User avatar #73 to #62 - reaganomix (04/05/2012) [-]
I wouldn't solely blame Obama. The only thing Obama did was listen to the economist he hired from both sides of the spectrum.

It's easy to see that Keynes' ideas aren't working so good this time around. The problem with using stimulus now when compared to the great depression is that we are to globalized.
I'm not a fan of Obama, but when it comes to the debt, it put more of the blame on the economists that thought massive spending would work.

I know that Obama did support Paul Ryan's budget plans before congress started arguing about the debt ceiling. Obama just wants to get reelected so he is denouncing it now
User avatar #67 to #62 - SniperKitty (04/05/2012) [-]
Sorry but if they were smart and REALLY wanted to win they wouldn't be alienating the two biggest populations of voters, women and latinos. I never said I supported Obama, I just said all the republicans are nut jobs, which they are. YOU assume because I say the republicans are stupid that I support Obama, which shows how ignorant YOU are.
#71 to #67 - John Cena (04/05/2012) [-]
You believe the media. How adorable. You realize all of that is drummed up from the left right? Let me guess you support Ron Paul like just about every other nut job teen? You think he will fix everything don't you? You're so adorable. You're exactly the little brainwashed idiot they want you to be.
User avatar #76 to #71 - SniperKitty (04/05/2012) [-]
1) I'm not a teen
2) I don't support Ron Paul
3) I'm a female so I'm very concerned about the laws being passed about abortion and contraception
4) If they wanted the election AGAIN they wouldn't be alienating women like this which is their largest voting population, we make up 51% of the vote, and Obama is leading Romney by 18 points with the women votes... Romney was beating Obama last month by 1 point... now tell me how 19 points shift in ONE month. Yeah, the Republicans are nut jobs, anyone who wants to win an election wouldn't be spewing the **** they are at this point.
#78 to #76 - John Cena (04/05/2012) [-]
So let me guess. You want a free handout like everyone else in this country. You think because you need birth control it should be paid for for you and you should get it like it's candy? Am I right? The only nutjobs in this country are leftists and the media that makes people like you believe that the right is actually alienating women. Obama is one failure after another. He is not fit for the office at all.
User avatar #84 to #78 - SniperKitty (04/05/2012) [-]
No, I think that employers shouldn't be allowed to FIRE a woman because she takes birthcontrol, I don't believe that employers should have the CHOICE not to cover birthcontrol based on their religious beliefs, they cover vasectomies for men which is birthcontrol, but they get the choice to cover the pill?

I also don't think government should be allowed to RAPE me if I want an abortion, they need to stay away from that area of my life all together, that's MY choice not theirs. Not only are they taking away rights of women, they are sanctioning many to death by trying to pass laws keeping women from having abortions who may need it in a life or death situation. They are also forcing women with pregnancies that will not end in a live birth to go through carring a dead or dying fetus inside of them which is basically torture.

Again, if the Republicans WERE NOT nut jobs, they wouldn't be trying to pass and passing such stupid laws, and saying such stupid things about the majority of the voting population.
#96 to #84 - John Cena (04/06/2012) [-]
On average, women give at least 3 reasons for choosing abortion: 3/4 say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities; about 3/4 say they cannot afford a child; and 1/2 say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner.
There is why women are getting abortions. No accountability.
User avatar #245 to #96 - meganinja ONLINE (04/06/2012) [-]
Also, i hate to say this, but i'm going to be honest and bring it out. Look at the world's population. 7 billion ******* people. In the 1960's the population was only 4 billion. That means the population had almost doubled in the last 50 years. If this keeps up at its current rate, we're going to run out of food and people are simply going to starve to death until enough have died from starvation that we can feed what's left again. Every child that's aborted will ease the pain of the earth by just a tiny bit. So allow women to have responsibility and realize having 12 kids is bad.

I know i'm going to get red thumbs for saying this, but it had to be said.
User avatar #240 to #96 - meganinja ONLINE (04/06/2012) [-]
what if the woman was raped? And not being able to afford a child is a pretty good reason. Why have the child starve to death after being born instead of ending its life humanely?
#90 to #84 - John Cena (04/05/2012) [-]
What about the right of the child that you are killing? Where does he get a say? Oh that's right. He doesn't. You get to go out and get knocked up and say **** it I'll get an abortion. No big deal. Women already get abortions like they are nothing. Let it be completely legal and we have a bunch of people with so accountability. But that's what everyone wants now. They don't want to have to take blame for something. Easy to blame someone else. I stand by. Abortion should not be legal. I will never vote for it to be legal.
#93 to #90 - madmanmax (04/06/2012) [-]

User avatar #133 to #103 - SniperKitty (04/06/2012) [-]
Okay so I'm just going to respond to all the anon posts assuming it's the same cowardly person behind each of them.

1) Are you a woman who has carried a child? No? Oh so you have no right to say how any woman feels about an abortion
2) There is a very very small majority who feel nothing while getting an abortion but the rest are traumatized by the experiance
3) You're statistics are very wrong, what you are saying is that women only get abortions for themselves which implies that NO fetus becomes diagnosed with a fatal disease, that means NO woman goes into labor early with no chance of saving the baby, that means NO woman ever has a risky pregnancy that could result in her death. Yeah, that seems logical
4) If the child had rights, I would have gotten tax money the DAY I got pregnant, but I have to WAIT until the child is BORN to get any money from the government. Why? Because it's not a person until it is living and breathing outside of the womb, it has no rights when it's in the mother, it's not even a functioning individual until at LEAST 25 weeks and even after that it requires a lot and I mean A LOT of care to stay alive
5) The abortion rate hasn't gone UP since abortion has been legalized, no, in reality the percent has stayed the same, the ONLY change with legalized abortion is that the fatality rate in women has gone down from going out and finding illegal ways to abort, or dying all together from complicated pregnancy
6) Abortion has been apart of our society for many many years, making it illegal again doesn't make it go away, it results in more deaths of women, and more babies born with complications due to failed illegal abortion attempts, so the child will die outside the womb or will live it's life with damage due to the failed attempt.
7) Nobody is FOR abortion, being pro choice doesn't mean you go out and say Hooray abortions!
I'm sure I could come up with MANY more points, but I'm running out of characters to type.... Your move anon.
User avatar #179 to #133 - cloukora (04/06/2012) [-]
I'm sorry, but I think that whole thing with "Guys need to stay out of it" is wrong. Mainly because most women who say that only say it because they are on the other side, but they don't mind it when a guy is on their side. Then again, guys shouldn't have to worry about it, because it's only for the choice, it's not like their deciding whether or not the woman should abort or not....I don't know. I just know that I don't feel it right for a woman to say that and allow for men supporters. I do agree with everything else you are saying though.
User avatar #201 to #179 - SniperKitty (04/06/2012) [-]
I never said guys should stay out of it. I never said those words. I simply said that he can not say how a woman feels about an abortion because he is not a woman and has never been pregnant. I'm sorry MEN do not get to say how we feel about it just like WOMEN do not get to say we know exactly how it feels to get kicked in the nuts. Everything else he has a say in.

No, he is an American citizen. He was born in Hawaii after it became a state. The reason he took so long in showing it is because he and the Democrats couldn't believe that people like Limbaugh and Back would have the stones to suggest the party nominate someone who couldn't run.

With every breath, we shall hunt them down, and each day, we shall spill their blood until it rains down from the skies! Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal: these are principles which every man of every faith can embrace! These are not polite suggestions: these are codes of behaviour, and those that do not heed them will pay the dearest cost! There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds, and cross over into true corruption; into our domain. But if you do, one day, you will look behind you, and you will see we three. And on that day, you will reap it! And we will send you toward whatever God you wish."
