agreed, i find the show really hard to watch sometimes because it is so dumbed-down. but i do enjoy the show most of the time

I'd have to agree. Everyone I know used to tell me "You should watch The Big Bang Theory. You remind me so much of Sheldon!" And then I watched it and... I was horribly underwhelmed. It wasn't terribly funny and the subject matter did not meld very well with some of the higher-level humor as they like to put it.

In short, an okay show and that's it.

I agree, almost everyone I know say the same thing to me, although I've already watched a few episodes of The Big Bang Theory before them, and I must admit, they do like to talk "smart", by smart I mean, they blurt out words that make them sound smart but in reality they have no idea what they just said.

but at least its a show about smart people, rather than a show about stuipid people.

Not all, you must have at least some knowledge of different subjects that the general audience does not tend to know. Some people that watch the show could only think "Wut did i just watch." (pic related)

Seriously... they also like to think of themselves as "nerds" when they actually are just some bloody hipster or posers.

>Implying Jim Parsons is anything but an actor

Just because he portrays something on TV doesn't mean he's actually smart.

I agree, but, i think you get the feeling that he has to have some level of intellect to play sheldon cooper.
#247 to #242 - paradoxpoetic (04/04/2012) [-]
You have to keep in mind, though, that an actor is known for their biggest works. Danielle Radcliffe cannot perform magic, but he will always be Harry Potter to most of us. Maybe he's not a "real life" physicist, but seeing our little Shelly beside Stephen Hawking is fantastic.
