Romeo and Juliet is not a love story. It's a lust story. It's about two stupid teenagers who thik they are in love. The story is spread over 3 days, and it is mentioned that Romeo 'loved' a girl less than a day before.

It was Shakespeare's prediction to those annoying 13 year old's on Facebook.

If it's over 3 years, it isn't really lust, is it? eh? eh?
Come on, Romeo and Juliet's one of the most intricate pieces of drama ever written, if you wanna bash someone, bash Hamlet who can't make up his ******* mind about murdering people..

It's over three days.

And no, Hamlet is one of the most intricate pieces of drama ever written. Themes of madness, loyalty and revenge are all woven seamlessly throughout the script, as well as clever dialogue and allusions to mythology.

It's his best play, bar Titus Andronicus.

Titus Andronicus? I take it you like a lot of gore.

A little bit. I just find the plot mighty interesting :P

The play may be good but the protagonist is despicable, and Romeo and Juliet has some of the best writing in Shakespeare's works. In Hamlet, the sloth's soliloquies become barely bearable after the first hours, and without the other characters to carry the play, it definitely wouldn't have had the same success.

It's all crap. Social engineering written by Rosicrucian Francis Bacon in cahoots with the British Secret Service to manipulate the thinking of the Western world. It worked and led to Star Trek and Teletubbies and Oprah and now the world sucks.

are you retarded?

It's funny because you only know that because of a FB status, not because you've read the book.

iv always found it hilarious that in the original play Romeo was somewhere between 16 and 18 and Juliet was 13.
seriously can you imagine someone being close to finishing high school and "falling in love" with a 13 year old?

How would I be gay? She makes my pants shrink because she gives me a boner, plus she is the daughter of Steve Tyler, so when she becomes my wife, I will have the greatest father in-law on earth.

Goddammit Frank, quit reciting Shakespeare out in the middle of the park. Everybody's going to think you're a bear-fag. And I don't want to deal with Westboro digging in for the long haul in the middle of our ******* woods. I can only eat so many of the puny ones before they break out the rifles.

"Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say goodnight until it be morrow!"

Contemporary English: It's sad to say goodbye, but it's only 'till tomorrow.

I hate to be "that guy" who mocks OP, but this isn't an exquisite grasp of the English language.

EDIT: Red thumbs for disagreeing with the status quo? I'll take 'em.
