Random fact: A single nerve controls the mosquito's instinct to stop feeding. If the nerve is damaged, the mosquito will continue to feed until it bursts.

We're actually alergic to the venom and salivia used by insects.

People actually believe this? If this post was true than i would be surprised on the coinsidence that every musquito that bit me to this day, also has bitten a sheep before. Post is false, a bite from a musquito itches because it spits in our blood before he starts sucking it. In their spit that contains an amount of around 20 proteins which prevents your blood from clotting.

actually it's their spit
#2 - anon (03/22/2012) [-]
actually it's because of the venom they inject into your veins, so the blood wont keep streaming out.

Look at all these dumb asses. Mosquitoes don't have any muscles to vomit with, the saliva provokes an allergic reaction. insects.about com/od/insectpests /f/mosquitoitch.htm

I thought they injected an Anti-coagulant so that your blood doesn't clot and they can drink their fill.

NO~! it gets itchy because your antibodies react with the mosquitoes saliva!
