Erm, Both Sherlock Holmses are English... Serlock never lived in the US.

And the BBC series is better the the hollybwood version of him.

I hate that the BBC series made it more "modern" it was perfect the way it is -_-
the stories were set in the 19th century,, why did they feel the need to change it :@

Erm, he was talking about the country of adaptation.

And Robert Downey Jr. was way better.

Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the best portrayals of Sherlock I've ever seen, Downey Jr. isn't even close

Downey's performance is grittier and more paranoiac, that brings us closer to conan's later novels with an intoxicated and mad Sherlock.

meanwhile Cumberbatch's portrayal shows us more of his ego, how he loves winning almost as a fetish and can't stand losing and views anyone who can challenge him with either reverence or fear. I like for that side to be emphasized over the drunk paranoid side. Not to mention BBC Sherlock's moriarty, while not much like the character in the books, is infinitely more enjoyable than the one in the Downey Jr. Movies.

of course this is all opinionated, so there's no right and wrong here.

totally agree... the American version is exaggerated, BBC is a lot more realistic.
