Right now the US gets 2% of its oil from Iraq. In contrast, we get 13% of it from Canada. We were importing more oil from Iraq before 2003 than we are now. In conclusion, Iraq wasn't about oil. I doubt someone can come on here and provide hard evidence, not hallow conclusions, that the war in Iraq was about oil.

It was about power and oil. Otherwise you would have left many many years ago.

Here's a few facts on how we have helped iraq, the people there; 2m+ "displaced" (homeless), Insurgency strength (2004-2007) 15k-70k, unemployment 27 to 60%, without adequate water 70%, <1% think that we helped in terms of security.

All I'm arguing right now is that it wasn't about oil. Can you provide me with evidence that it was?

"President Bush's Cabinet agreed in April 2001 that 'Iraq remains
a destabilising influence to the flow of oil to international markets
from the Middle East' and because this is an unacceptable risk to
the US 'military intervention' is necessary."[1]

Bush wanted to do this before 9/11. Happy?
