The thing is that being a soldier isnt just a job, soldiers kill sometimes innocent human beings with families and friends everyday, thats not a job, thats a murderer.

im sorry but please go ******* kill yourself
a soldier kills when he has to kill, that should be the enemy, civilian casualties happen.
although there are ********* like those "kill-team" SBCT ************* who killed civilians for free, but those arent the rule

And who exactly are the enemy, because im pretty sure 864,531 Iraqi civilians arent from Al'Queda.
User avatar #72 to #66 - Trrave (03/05/2012) [-]
No, but Al'Queda does cowardly things like hide among civilians. And kill civilians. Including civilians that agree with them. I haven't looked up the research myself, but I would bet the vast majority of civilian casualties in both wars are a result of the enemy. Again, I won't say that is a fact, I don't know for certain, but I would not be surprised in the least.

the initial invasion of iraq did cause some civilian casualties through incompetence of troops and officers and entire towns being prepared by shelling them with 2000+ rounds from artillery guns. the rest can mostly be put on account of IED's or insurgents hiding amongst civilians

Plumbers die doing their job too, and race car drivers. But you don't claim that they define society... Even thought they act on their free will, not like puppets to the masters like the soldiers.

Plumbers and Racecar drivers don't put their lives on the line to ensure that you don't have to. Soldiers do.

Hate to tell you this, but you are ignorant. I generally stay polite here, but I don't feel you deserve it to be honest. All of the soldiers I know, and given who I am and what I do and plan to do, have joined because they feel that our society and civilization needs to be protected. None of them believe that it is perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better than some. They do as they do to defend and ensure the liberties that aren't allowed in many areas. I would love to see how you fare under Sharia law as enforced by radical Islamists.
