You did your best, that's all that counts.

I very much enjoy being a gentlemen as much as I can. often times when I pass by a women regardless of her age or looks I tip my hat just to be kind and maybe give them something to smile about for the day. Now I dont expect anything in return but instead of being content with my friendliness, most give me a look as if I just slapped their ass and the younger women, my age just laugh at me. so many people complain that kids are rude these days but god forbid I actually try to be curtious.

As a girl I would give you a huge smile if you did that to me. :)

Well I thoroughly appreciate that! I'm glad some people can be just as friendly! =)

I get the strangest looks when I say "hello" to people that I pass.

I wish society can go back to wearing these types of clothing.

This is the epitome of badassery right there.
User avatar #45 to #43 - dirigiblequixote (03/02/2012) [-]
He is not holding a sword, therefore he is incapable of being the epitome of badassery. It's just a simple fact.

Also, hello Mal!
User avatar #46 to #45 - malizlewaa (03/02/2012) [-]
...a sword? seriously? What is this...the middle ages?
User avatar #49 to #46 - dirigiblequixote (03/02/2012) [-]
Melee weaponry makes anything cooler. Swords especially.

Lmao. Those clothes? What is this? The 60s?
Works both ways.

I listen to 40's and 50's music pretty much exclusively.
Plus I wear suits and dress shirts all the time. People either compliment me or give me weird looks (I'm a freshman in high school)
#60 to #43 - nightdude (03/02/2012) [-]
I agree. I also wish swing and other big band music was popular

As a kid, I was super polite, but it slowly faded away because I saw people reaction neutral or even angry to me, and I also grew shyer everday.

I get weird looks and feel ashamed if I hold the door for someone now...
User avatar #73 to #69 - TheHutchie (03/03/2012) [-]
I feel for you bro. As a kid I was shy and afraid of any stranger I felt obligated to communicate with. As I grew up I guess I got out of that and just sort of coasted through life pretty neutrally.

Lately, I've come to show respect and manners to everyone around me, and the moment they don't return it I get unnecessarily aggressive. It's quite fun to be honest.
User avatar #5 - kdiddlid (03/02/2012) [-]
Its like this:
- Headphones on, throw a nod towards ur friend = don't wanna talk.
- One ear free = Wants to listen
- Takes both out = REALLY WANTS TO TELL YOU **** !!!
the last one is ******* annoying if you hate that person....

JFK killed the hat by being the first president to appear in public without one regularly. Used to be everyone had a bitchin fedora, but not anymore. Which is why Indiana Jones went back in time and killed him.
Pic unrelated.

Wonder what effect it has had on our brains..

That's an obvious one, what about the psychological changes...
I don't know if there actually are any, just thought it was interesting.
