Japan -were- warned, and they didn't exactly surrender after the first nuke, so they brought it upon themselves
User avatar #313 to #285 - skittlevodka (02/29/2012) [-]
do you think that 3 days in enough for a ocuntry to surrender, although it is proven, that the japanese governemnt only knew exactly what happened in hiroshima about two days after... IGNORANCE, you have no clue about the actual facts. you make it sound as if it was their fault that you dropped a second bomb right after. Also pearl harbour was a US military base, Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the other hand were largly populated cities, cities where civilians lived in. Do you think it was their decision of attacking pearl harbour?

#278 to #246 - anon (02/29/2012) [-]
the reason we nuked japan? because it, as well as other things, we in response to that oh so obvious attack on pearl harbor, so go blow it out your ass. and I don't know what you're talking about "talks about 9/11 all the time" I know not a single person here, who still talks about it EXCEPT on 9/11.

I ain't even mad.

hey guess what?
those 2 nukes you dropped killed more than 250,000 people (that's over 80 9/11's so you'll understand). go and tell me that killing a quarter million civilians mostly woman and children, with weapons that started an arms race threatening then entire earth is okay because someone attacked a military naval base in times of war.
User avatar #502 to #345 - vepevellu (02/29/2012) [-]
Those two nukes were devastating and I hope that all the people who died, because of those, rest in peace. That being said I do believe nuking was the right decision. They killed 250 000 civilians in the bombs, but if they would have invaded, many millions could have died. It was not for revenge, it was to end a war. As for the nuclear arms race; it would have happened anyways. Russia was researching nuclear power, and the Manhattan Project would have happened anyways. 9/11 was a terrorist attack during peace time that started a war on terror that ended up killing a million civilians in the middle-east. I think it is silly to cry for the lost souls of 9/11, but ignore the Iraqi and Afghan casualties.
#618 to #502 - anon (02/29/2012) [-]
I support you 100% man our generation is ****** wanna know why? You come one here speak the truth and get 0 thumbs yet someone joking about 9/11 gets 25 thumbs dude **** our generation there all a bunch of self entitled a-holes who have these ****** up views on things such as Pearl Harbor. It wasn't just a military base it housed civilian family's, nurses, and doctors man and while that being said was ****** up I am not saying that is why the atomic bombs were necessary they were called for because of the Japanese's level of devotion to their imperial leaders. I was watching that WW2 in HD the other day where hundreds of Okinawa citizens threw themselves off of cliffs just because the government told them not to surrender. The atomic bombs saved lives because estimates of casualties of American soldiers were around a million and half a million British not to mention all of the civilians there regime would have gladly sacrificed to keep the war going. And to another guy who said they didn't have time they were given an ultimatum on July 27 1945 after the first bomb and they still didn't agree the government was ruthless and didn't care about their citizens. I do not know if you have the same beliefs in me but you seem like a decent person so you sir I salute.

truth? you think he is talking the truth? how would you know you lived in brainwashed America. You think you are the graetest country in the world, but i dont blame you for that, you havent learned anything else about the world in your life!
#309 to #278 - anon (02/29/2012) [-]
Ahhh, butthurt, america nuked civilians and japan killed for their cause,we are all in the wrong at some point and I personally think it would be a great thing for humanity to die out honestly.
User avatar #558 to #246 - Snowplows (02/29/2012) [-]
The nukes were attacks on warned, military cities. 9/11 was an act of terrorism. The only other way to end WW2 would have been an invasion of Japan which would have caused an estimated 1 million deaths.

The real question is, was it funny? It seems that when you want to get a point across on FJ of a matter disregarding blatant humor, you still have to have a comedic sense to appeal to FJ.
