So yeah, I looked it up.
Choices are:
1) To sing with a full voice.
2) To sing in the manner of a round or catch.
3) To fish, either moving the pole up and down or trailing behind a boat. (for pike, I'm guessing)
4) To move (the bait) in doing this.
5) To cause to turn around or roll.
6) And last but not least, the obsolete version: to hand around.
None of these things means to sift through a database, as in the Internet, and if he's using this word as if to say he's "fishing the Internet," does that not make it a "slang term?"
