So, today, I was at a conference
and I saw something I need to share
with you guys, because it rocks:
This woman is a video game designer
and she has an awesome theory
My goal, for the next decade is to make it as
easy to save the world in real lite as it is in online games
At the moment, we spend 3 billion
hours on average playing online games
According to my research, I believe that if we want to
survive the next century on this planet, we need to
increase that number to
Why is that? Well, she believes that us,
gamers, have rel incredible talents.
But more importantly, we have spent
a lot of time developing these talents.
Solar, we' spent
5. 93 million years
The average person today, in a strong
gamer culture, will have spent:
10, 000 hours gaming
by cage fl]
For children in the USA, is the exact
amount of time you will spent in school from tth grade
to highschool graduation if you have perfect attendance.
I guess you see why it is such a big
deal by now. But what do we learn?
Well, this is when the rel talents come
into play (if I might say):
Basically, what she is saying is that
we are very productive when given
epic goals (saving the world by killing
dragons, for example), we always
believe we can do it and we are very
good at forming teams to achieve "
Now, imagine if you could be in real
life as you are in a game such as Wow.
This is what she is trying to create and
I think it needs to be known about.

things video games have taught me

1.god of war: persue revenge at the cost of all else in this world and others.
2.infamous: it is perfectly legitamate, and more fun/rewarding to be an evil bastard
3.Halo: reguardless of how hard you try, working as a team is impossible because of at least 1 ass hole. hero: i'm totally awesome at guitar, unfortunetly, there are thousands more on youtube
5.overlord:sending those of lower rank than me to their imminent death may not be fruitful, but it's fun to watch a massicer every once in a while,
6.assassins creed: i could have jumped from a space ship orbiting earch and so long as i land in a hay bail i'll be perfectly fine.
7.grand theft auto:if i go on a murderous rampage and die, i'll wake up in a hospital with all my weapons taken away, but no other consequences.
8.skyrim/oblivion: just because i've finished my objective does not mean i wont take the time to nic every god damn piece of gold in the place.
9.fallout 3: it is a perfectly acceptable alternative to reject a quest and just shoot the ugly bastard in the face.
10.legend of zelda/Mario: reguardless of how many times you save a woman, she will never put out.
11.dante's inferno: going to hell can be fun, specially if you're going to kill the devil for beign a wuss.

i think that's about it, does anyone have anything to add?
