We have both in America. It depends on the bread you buy and where you buy it. Usually bagels and such have the square ones more often than not.

I'm sure you get them. In America we get the twist ties as well. You probably just need to look a bit harder.

I've looked around for the square ones. I looked through about 4-5 different shops. Didn't find them anywhere, unfortunately. Still haven't.
