Cop spends weeks to trick an into possession
and sale of a gram of pot
By Mark at 10: 19 are Friday, Feb 17
More hm hom the society: This American Life had a show about how young
female undercover my infiltrated a high wheel and flirted with boys to entrap them into
selling pot, so they could charge them with felonies and destroy their lives at an early age.
Last year in three high swhools in Florida, several undercover police
officers posed as students. The undercover myes went to classes, became
F acebook friends and flirted with the other students. Cine
honor student named Justin fell in love with an attractive
undercover mp after spending weeks sharing stories about their lives,
texting and flirting with each other.
One day she asked Justin if he smoked pot. Even though he didn' t smoke
marijuana, the teen promised to help find some for her. Every
couple of days she would text him asking if he had the marijuana.
Finally, Justin was able to get it to her. She tried to give him for the
marijuana and he said he didn' t want the maney -- he got it for her as a
present.
A short while later, the police did a big sweep and arrest 31 students --
including Justin. Almost all were charged with selling a small amount of
marijuana to the undercover cops. Now Justin has a felony hanging over
his head.

i dont think cops are even allowed to do that, its called entrapment i think

entrapment is perfectly legal.
it is also legal for a cop to smoke with you to convince you they're not a cop, without being charged themselves
also, if you ask if you ask about an undercover cop, they legally can lie to you about being one.
moral of the story: america sucks, don't buy drugs from anyone unless you personally know them to be safe.

Its called poaching too. Like say there is a cop (There is actually a ****** in my town who does this) who sits outside of restaraunts and waits for people to come out and without any Probable Cause, he pulls them over, gives them the FST, and arrests them, brings them to JAIL for the night, and then revokes their license for a year. This asshole still has had no consequencess.

Plus its totally illegal for police to do this

You, sir, are absolutely correct.

agreed but thanks to wording of the Patriot Act and its subsequent spin offs and children, most entrapment laws can be avoided with drug charges. I hope they do the right thing and drop this once the outrage sets in good.

yeah youre right the cops should actually get in trouble because they took advantage of this poor kid and then arrest him? seriously if anything he should be able to get away with claiming he knew it all along and he was only aiding in the cops of busting someone or something of that manner
#278 - npfortytwo (02/19/2012) [-]
Luckily, because they have evidence that the police specifically attempted to lure the guys into selling weed, they can walk free if they can prove that it was entrapment (which it was).

< MFW the police try and do this **** .

I'm getting a massive feel right here...

To think, that "justin" kid probably never would of consorted in anyway with drugs unless his apparent Lover(undercover harlot) had not of pushed him into idea?!
And for what anyway?! A small amount of goverment funding for an arrest tally...

**** THE POLICE!

I'm pretty sure that makes the undercover cops accomplices, and let us not forget that, as a cop, you aren't supposed to bait someone in to committing a crime.

I'm about 90% sure this needs to be taken to the Supreme Court, at least at the state level.
#508 to #486 - spidermcwebbington (02/19/2012) [-]
But I do agree with you

Levels of Supreme Law:

Constitution>Supreme Court decisions>Laws passed by Congress>State Supreme Court rulings>State laws>City/County ordinances

you dont have any sense of the legal system. If hes convicted then he can appeal. If he was entrapped, no judge will take it. Charges dropped and nothing happens. Happens all the time, not for entrapment but for other technicalities. Not only that but the kid brought drugs onto a 'drug free zone' The cop never asked or told (from what I've read) him to BRING it to school. So he doesnt get convicted of selling weed, he gets convicted for bringing it to school.
User avatar #523 to #486 - cjklefty (02/19/2012) [-]
There is a fine line between entrapment and just being a sneaky cop.

So... he got arrested and charged for a crime he committed... that he wouldn't have committed if the cop hadn't asked him to. I'm pretty sure that's actually a felony on her part as well. This is ridiculous.
