Religion in a nutshell

Feel free to say anything you would like in the comment section.

I don't intend to offend anyone's beliefs, but this is how I feel about religion.

I found these puzzle pieces laying here next
to this box. Want to help me put it together?
No. It' s a picture of a duck.
There' s no point doing all the work.
The box already told me what it is.
Some of these pieces don' t
seem to match the picture.
I' d like to figure out why.
how ‘accurate.
trees' Mer here.
It' s beginning to look nothing like I
the box. Are you sure you don' t
want to help?
How can you say that?
There' s still a lot of missing pieces.
it' s a duck. The box wouldn' t lie.
but I can see trees, water;
So far, ho duck,
Look, it' s almost done and it' s definitely
not a duck. It looks more like Winnie the
Pooh. I haven' t found tbe: l* yet,
ATC- but" it’ s certainly not ‘a duc ,

The box says 25 pieces, but the puzzle is 4x6.
They are clearly two different puzzles.

What if this comic is actually a deep social commentary about people looking to argue one against the other, while they are two separate entities that do not conflict. Perhaps science is the answer to how and not the answer to why.

You can't prove a negative without knowing everything there is to know.
If you could somehow become omniscient, the you would be God.
Therefore you can never disprove God.

Anon is being a troll.
Stop trying to reason with it.
It is Anon.
Anon cannot be reasoned with for anon cannot be reasoned with.
And also Anon is being a troll.

first, retoast
second, It's a little presumptuous saying that we have 90% of the universe figured out. We used to "know that the earth was flat and we used to "know that the sun circled the earth.

I never really understood these religion vs. science arguments. In my mind it is clearly both! God created a universe that is dynamic and can evolve. He was the reason for the big bang.

Voila. Science and religion can exist together.

Science is the answer to why gods creation works, not why it exists in the first place.

Nice comic btw!

The problem is that there is the Bible, which dismisses these thoughts as blasphemy and gives arguments to ignorant people.

So the Bible really is the box.

Congratulations OP. You have once again misinformed the masses of FJ. We in fact do not have 90% of the universe figured out. Hell, we can't even see 90% of the universe. Physicists, the guys who have to learn just about everything about how everything works, admit that even their knowledge is limited. Explain every last molecule in the galaxy, and I will continue to believe in God. Even in the second year of trying to get my masters in order to teach physics at the university level, I still believe even though you continue to post misleading garbage like this.

Of course OP's not saying that we know everything. He is making an analogy. WhatOH PEEmeans, is that we have a lot of knowledge. If you consider EVERYTHING there is to know, then we will never, given infinite time, know 90% of what is out there. However, we DO know enough. Physicists are working through observations and calculations, and there are things we have determined as true. For example, we know what occurred fractions of a second after the big bang, and we have also determined that for everything we can see, the stars, the planets and the earth, everything obeys certain laws. We know what these laws are. Instead of being in awe and amazement of what surounds us, we now know. We understand the VAST, VAST chain and network of cause and effect that lead to this exact point. We may not KNOW every event and action, but we understand how it occurs in general. Imagine a man from the middle ages, who suddenly appeared in the modern world. He would look at the sky, and see airplanes. He would be amazed, and claim it the work of God or dark magic. But you know it isn't. It's physics, the lift generated by the air over the wings. Another example: the food you buy at the store. You know that a truck came up and delivered it, and that a human drove that truck, probably from a processing plant or a farm. You don't know what gender that person was, or their name. In fact, you know essentially nothing about them, but you still understand that it isn't a miracle. This is what we understand. We know that everything that has happened happened without the help of an external force. That your existance, COULD, with the proper knowledge be traced back following the laws of physics to the Big Bang.
