The first thing I learned in science class in hs is that Science can't "prove" anything. You can only find evidence through studies and experiments. So technically, the Theory of Evolution hasn't been officially "proven", it's just accepted as fact based on the evidence scientists have found to support it. It should be taught as the best possible, neutral answer, but that doesn't mean it should be accepted as fact. Just a couple hundred years ago, people "knew" the earth was flat, and "knew" that the sun revolved around the earth. What theory or idea that we "know" will be questioned in the future?

I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.

Your religious beliefs are like your genitals, everybody has them, but that doesn't mean we want to hear you talk about them.

this "clever trick" is called "Maieutics".
It works every time, with everyone.
It's like the judo of conversation, using your opponent's argument against himself, making him prove his beliefs inaccurate all by himself.
Socrates motherfuckers!

coming from a scientist, evolution is a very shakey theory, please read more than your school textbook before you debate with a intelligent person. all 4 of those examples can be torn apart by someone who actually studies it unless you have better examples.

If I believed every little bit of nonsense that I have heard from some homeuax scientists, then I'd be sitting at home with my tin foil hat on, rubbing magnets against each other to signal the aliens from Venus to come to Earth to keep those killer bee zombies from breaking into my house.

Having said that: Two "english literature" classes in community college don't make you a scientist.
