Replace believers with black people and atheists with white people, and that's how stupid you look to me. Apparently debate and social evolution are bad now.

this "clever trick" is called "Maieutics".
It works every time, with everyone.
It's like the judo of conversation, using your opponent's argument against himself, making him prove his beliefs inaccurate all by himself.

The problem is, most people who don't believe in evolution are too daft to understand their own retarded BS. As my father has told me, stupid people always win arguments because they never accept loss

Religious wars:
Atheist > Facts facts facts facts opinion rage rage facts
Theist < opinion opinion faith faith faith faith bible faith faith "believe what you want to believe it's okay"
Atheist > rage

This is EVERY SINGLE ******* ARGUMENT
Point is; there are no good arguments here because they are always stopped by the magic word, "faith".

honestly i have a few ideas how you can combine both Christianity and Science.. Most Atheist believe in science because what else is there right? they just dont beilive that there is something out there that is a "higher power". so how bout fill in the gaps of unknown with that higher power "God" and think that it is powerful enough to grant a wish (prayer). doesn't mean it will. its just like luck you hope for luck why not just have hope for luck that maybe that higher power will give you that luck and just thank him and he may give you more. on a separate step if you know the theory of black hole and creation of the universe (many devoted scientists such as Steven Hawking have thought of) you would see that maybe at the end of a black hole after the event horizon is new universe (the cluster of energy before the big bang) this keeps the law of conservation of energy as well. due to light being energy and the black holes collecting such on the event horizon. :) please accept this information for pondering and theory making feel free to comment on any ignorance i may have.

The first thing I learned in science class in hs is that Science can't "prove" anything. You can only find evidence through studies and experiments. So technically, the Theory of Evolution hasn't been officially "proven", it's just accepted as fact based on the evidence scientists have found to support it. It should be taught as the best possible, neutral answer, but that doesn't mean it should be accepted as fact. Just a couple hundred years ago, people "knew" the earth was flat, and "knew" that the sun revolved around the earth. What theory or idea that we "know" will be questioned in the future?

I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.
#60 to #13 - Fgner ONLINE (02/06/2012) [-]
Seriously? So science hasn't PROVEN that the Earth orbits the Sun? Science hasn't PROVEN that a negative electron resides in the electron cloud surrounding the nucleus composed of positive protons and neutrons?
Saying science can't "prove" anything is like saying we haven't invented a single thing in the entire history of mankind. If science didn't PROVE how electricity works, chemical properties of certain elements and molecules, nuclear fission (assuming your power grid receives it's main supply from a nuclear plant), AC to DC conversion principles, the cause and properties of photons, and another million other things, you wouldn't have the computer to type on.

And hey punk, RELIGION said that the Earth was flat and the Earth revolved the Sun, not science. In fact, you guys exiled Galileo for his contributions to science, and only let Copernicus say what he did because he said it was a Theory!
User avatar #453 to #60 - maattb (02/06/2012) [-]
You probably got toenail clippinged down for sounding like a dick. I thought that when he said, "Science can't "prove" anything. You can only find evidence through studies and experiments." sounded odd. That is like saying, oh I have not personally gone around the world, found out it is round and therefore I must accept it is what others originally said it was, which is flat. Just because something is socially accepted does not make it correct. What if EVERYONE thought sticking their hand in fire was a good thing to do? Does that make it correct? No. You will be in pain afterwards. Theories are quite interesting to question though.
