That's more realistic concerning how games are purchased now days.
They give you a half complete beta version of a game.
Updated it via internet witch you have to pay for (in most cases.)
You must pay for the other half later when thy feel like selling it.

Broken steel was cool I thought. You didn't HAVE to buy Broken Steel. You could have accepted yours or someone elses death at the end. Bethesda just didn't think anyone gave a **** about playing on or something. They found out they DID then they made that DLC to continue on but they needed a story to it and all that, so they said " **** IT, LET'S ADD MORE TO THE MAIN STORY"

I refuse to question Bethesda.

I like how in L4D2 (PC) Steam gives you all DLC free, plus the community provides a virtually unlimited amount of extra content. Oh and with all the ports Valve has been doing, if you get L4D2 you're getting most (if not all, I can't remember) of L4D1

I like it how in any pc game Pirates get the game, updates, dlc, and mods free.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion's GoTY versions give the DLCs too, like Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine

Oblivion didnt come with the dlc houses though. such as deepscorn hollow and frostcrag spire. can't remember names of other two.

A shame there's been no Skyrim DLC yet... Or, is there, and I just haven't heard about it?
#79 to #55 - John Cena (02/05/2012) [-]
skyrim's a good game and all, but they haven't even released an expansion pack yet...
it will probably be awesome, but maybe wait and see before making assumptions?
User avatar #93 to #79 - whersmydinerbtch (02/05/2012) [-]
We can make assumptions because of how much content has been released for the Fallout Series

Don't know about you guys but i don't consider karkand dlc considering you got it with the game for no extra money you just had to wait to use it. Skyrim hasn't had dlc but you're right its complete without any dlc =)

I hate when a game releases and there is already DLC for it
User avatar #2 - scarwing (02/04/2012) [-]
Well of course shooters have ****** DLC. RPG's not made by EA is where the real goldmine of DLC is. Though TF2 has pretty much mastered the formula by only charging for hats, therefore having enough profit to continuously improve the game with free stuff.
#8 - John Cena (02/04/2012) [-]
I thin DLC should; be free, incentive to buy games. So until it is I am boycotting all DLC. There aren't really any cool ones I really want on any games I have right now anyway.

I guess you don't have Fallout 3.
User avatar #24 - I Am Monkey (02/05/2012) [-]
Not entirely true.
Dice gives out free DLC for those that buy the game new.
Bad Company 2 got new map variants every month and a huge title update with 4 free new maps.
BF3 just released 4 new maps in B2K.

Cod milks their fans with a $15 DLC every 3 months instead of the $5 a month pay-to-play model they wanted.
User avatar #28 to #24 - BrayBoy (02/05/2012) [-]
Exactly, I dont hate cod or its fans but I prefer BF3 for so many reasons including what you said glad to see someone else agrees :)

Don't forget the fact that everyone who plays sports games pays 60 dollars, EVERY YEAR for a ******* roster update. THATS IT, no real change in graphics, very little difference in gameplay, just an update on stats.
#13 - John Cena (02/04/2012) [-]
Only decent expansions I've played were in DoW1 and AoE2, there isn't really that much you can add to an fps
#6 - captaindropkik (02/04/2012) [-]
i wish games like call of duty and battlefield would bring out proper expansions,
you're part of a military squad on like a single mission, they should bring out expansions
that add to the campaign for 800 points/whatever, that have extra map packs/updates
in the same pack, too much online focus these days
#12 to #6 - themrkurtcobain (02/04/2012) [-]
they need gun packs

exactly! what happened to FPS's like DOOM where there's actually some kind of awesome storyline that gives you a reason to keep playing, none of this "just gonna run round a map with 15 others for points"
#83 - sadaurkar (02/05/2012) [-]
Never get to use this.
