Shall I explain?

This picture shows President Obama stepping on the Constitution of the United States. Scattered about are other bills and famous documents that all gave the US its current rights, and the money, displaying the US dollars current worth (Even though its still the most globally used currency and in the top 5 strongest). About him are presidents of both the political left and right. We see Washington, Lincoln, Adams, Reagan, Author, and other politically right presidents glaring and shouting at Obama for his desecration of the US constitution. On the other side, we see the political left applauding Obama for what he has done, at last the more left, such as Jimmy carter, Bill Clinton, and (for some reason) Teddy Roosevelt. In the back other presidents seem to show no opinion, or a slight option (JFK with a hand raised, HW bush glaring). The man on the bench represents the American people, confused, disgruntled, and angered.

It represents the way other presidents would feel about what this nation has become under the rule of Obama, and, the more forward you get to him, recent PODUS's rule.

Really, think to yourself. How would George Washington feel if he could see this country today? Or Abe? FDR? Adams? All these men worked their asses off to protect, make, unite, and pull this nation into what it was, and in 16 years it went down.

pic unrelated.

Teddy Roosevelt was actually a progressive, even though his term n the presidency was as a Repuvlican. He of course started the national parks system, and even advocated for a national healthcare system over 100 years ago.
User avatar #355 to #352 - oddesy (01/28/2012) [-]
He was still a very strong supporter of individual rites, while, for all purposes, Obama isn't really.
#354 to #297 - Rascal (01/28/2012) [-]
i think i can tell you why teddy is with the lefties. if you recall, he was a member of progressivism, which did advocate changing the nation and opening it to more "socialist" ideas

I'm not amerifat, but I think the picture is pretty clear if you know the most prominent/famous presidents of the USA and his political ideologies.
I don't know how would Washington feel about your current country, but I don't know why his opinion should be more relevant than others. The founding fathers were just humans, as all politicians, and I think most amerifats should remember that he was (as other rich men) an slave owner. If you ask me, some libertarians today are like christian fundamentalist: they just quote their "holy" book that probably they never read (the bible/the constitution), and ignore that was created by imperfect men some centuries ago.
User avatar #362 to #356 - oddesy (01/28/2012) [-]
I just used them as an example. You could paste any PODUS name in there and it still holds effect. As long as he wasnt in the past 16 years.
#401 to #362 - Rascal (01/28/2012) [-]
But this still doesn't mean that the old presidents were better than the last ones. My idea is that some libertarians just quote the constitution in a biased way only to give more support to their opinions, like some christians do. The fact is, your constitution was created more than two centuries ago, and maybe need some changes, because the economy and society these days was extremely different than today. You have to assume that, in the late 18th century, america was not even an industrial country (like most the others)
User avatar #412 to #401 - oddesy (01/28/2012) [-]
don't start dragging religion into this, this isnt 4chans /pol/.

Just because it was made 200 years ago doesn't make it irrelevant today, many nations have formed the basis of theirs off of ours. our constitution gives its people liberties, and, in my mind, is just about flawless the way it is now.
User avatar #377 to #297 - noly (01/28/2012) [-]
George Washington, a slave holding man who started a war so he wouldn't have to pay one tax. George Washington, the richest president in US history (after adjusting for inflation), would be ******* proud of the fascist state our country has become, and would **** on the Roosevelt's, Obama, Clinton, Abe Lincoln, and JFK for spreading wealth.

For the people who don't understand this:

Abraham Lincoln is really tired so he wants to sit but as it turns out, Tobey Maguire is being a huge douche and refuses to stand up. Meanwhile, the presidents behind Maguire are comparing dick sizes (and Obama's obviously the champion). Bill clinton is having a clapping contest and Washington seems to admire Obama's nice shoes. Reagan is about to smack Maguire because he's a ****** actor and JFK and Bush are having a pointing contest.

Trust me, I'm asian, I know this **** well.

Mr. Obama has increased the national debt by over $4,000,000,000,000 since he's been in office. That's more than any president before him. He's the person to blame. Get some knowledge bro.
#556 to #527 - areyouawakeyet (01/28/2012) [-]
A helluva lot of spending on his part, at least he is working on reforming that with budget cuts.
And honestly, it isn't that bad. Yes, we have our debt, but look at the global economy. Europe is MUCH worse than we are, and the only people really thriving are the Chinese due to the fixed value on their currency (the fixed value tips the exchange rate in their favor, rather than making it fair).
Though it is affecting most people, the national debt has been a small factor in this recession when compared to the greedy nature of banks. The federal reserve has lowered reserve requirements and interest rates to encourage banks to lend money, but instead they keep hoarding and using the lower rates to raise their own profits. Look it up, brah.
Gif unrelated.

The people in the background are the most influential men in America's history; people who wrote their founding doctrines and led the country for the past few hundred years. The paper Obama is stepping on is the United States Constitution (even though it looks a lot like the Declaration of Independence; I don't THINK the author is trying to say that Obama wants America to rejoin with the UK, but whatevs), the primary governing document.
The joke is that Obama is ignoring the Constitution by signing ACTA.
ACTA deals with intellectual property, which, according to the Constitution, is a power not reserved for the executive office, but rather, the congress. So rather than do the lawful thing and have the country vote on the matter, he signed it anyways.

HOWEVER, even that is a gray line. While ACTA deals with intellectual property and falls under Congressional jurisdiction, the President and the President alone has the right to sign international treaties. So technically, Obama can sign it, but only if Congress says so.

tl;dr, Obama illegally signed ACTA.

#550 to #521 - Rascal (01/28/2012) [-]
Actually, the Senate is supposed to approve treaties, but they gave that authority up when they gave presidents so-called "Fast-Track" abilities. This is why the US never joined the League of Nations that Woodrow Wilson proposed/created... he signed, but the Senate didn't approve.
User avatar #529 to #521 - angelicangel (01/28/2012) [-]
there was the whole thing with SOPA which i got confused with cause didnt explain it clearly to me and now there this ACTA. Its ACTA meant to with trading to other countries(thats my only guess)
#534 to #529 - areyouawakeyet (01/28/2012) [-]
SOPA and PIPA were laws that primarily affected only the US. They were to be passed by the US for the US. ACTA is international, and has much harsher penalties, as the penalties are determined by corporations, and not by elected government officials.
#519 to #512 - Rascal (01/28/2012) [-]
The picture is meant to be Barack Obama stepping on the United States Constitution as if it is dead/being killed, while the Founding Fathers console a depressed citizen of the United States. It's meant to be a picture expressing the fact (and it is a fact) that we in the US are slowly losing our freedoms. The only problem is that almost all current government figures are guilty of this, Republican, Democrat, or otherwise.
#522 to #519 - angelicangel (01/28/2012) [-]
That sucks D:
#530 to #519 - areyouawakeyet (01/28/2012) [-]
The 'depressed citizen' is meant to represent the majority of Americans, and say that Obama is not paying attention to the common man.
I find it ironic, however, that the majority of Americans support Obama more than any other political figure at the moment. His approval ratings may be low, but because the republican party is so split between itself, Obama is still the leading political figure in America. The republicans can stop bickering, and they stand a fair chance. Meanwhile, Obama is gaining strength from his political stability and his predictability; whereas every other presidential candidate (save for Ron Paul, who I'd support if he wasn't cutting the Dept. of Education) has serious character flaws, such as tax evasion or infidelity with their spouses, the worst thing on Obama is still the 'birther conspiracy'.

I understand that the depressed guy is meant to represent the majority of American citizens (although sometimes I wonder since I have met so many people who are somewhat or totally ignorant about the Constitution), thank you for adding that point as a forgot to mention it explicitly. As for your other point, that has to do with some Republican supporters seeing various candidates (particularly Romney and Gingrich) as not "true conservatives."
User avatar #540 to #530 - I Am Monkey (01/28/2012) [-]
Republican candidates aren't "bickering". This is how all primary elections work. They fight eachother and the best candidate comes out the the challenger.
#548 to #540 - areyouawakeyet (01/28/2012) [-]
I understand that is how elections and primary elections work; however, I've been of the opinion that a real politician earns the people's favor by building up his own case, not tearing down his enemies.
Granted, no one is perfect, but I'd much rather support Ron Paul for his admirable traits rather than someone like Mitt Romney, who recently spent millions (and millions more were spent for him) on ads defaming Newt Gingrich.
User avatar #625 to #548 - I Am Monkey (01/29/2012) [-]
Let's face it. There are two types of candidates. Those who attack their opponents face to face and those who have a fanbase that will do so for them. Paul and Obama are the latter. Obama has the media play hitman so he can stand their and act like the innocent level headed one. Paul's fans are vicious. They verbally assault their opposition so he doesn't have to. Romney is new to the game, he doesn't yet have the fanbase to be his henchmen so he has to do it himself.

Just because the words aren't coming out of the candidates mouth doesn't mean their not running an aggressive campaign.

the republican party is pro business and wants to have less tax and smaller government. The democratic party is more about having more regulation and having more taxes to pay for government aid programs

The way I understand this is that Obama is stepping on the constitution showing how little it matters to him, the currency on the ground represents how little the U.S. dollar is worth, the man sitting down represents the people of the U.S. who have no job and the men around him are the earlier presidents who are disappointed in what our country has become.
