Wii(hacked, got around 200-300 games.), PC, PS1, PS2, DS, DSi, 3DS, (all 3 of which I use, my different r4s have different games.) Gameboy Advance, my phone (for certain games I can't get on any other platform) and N64.
I typed all this while sitting here in my GLaDOS T-shirt and Boo hat that I got along with a bunch of other gaming **** from some store the other day.
And you thought you needed a girlfriend.

I have all 3 major systems.

I love my Xbox 360. It's honestly more of a personal preference, as I find that the whole Xbox Live experience seems a lot meatier than PSN. Not to mention a lot of my friends had Xboxes, so I was able to play with and communicate with all of them with ease. I also buy all multiplatform games and downloads on it, but like I said, that's out of personal preference. I'm also a big fan of some of the exclusives (Halo, Gears of War, Forza) mostly because these seem to be the first 7th generation games to actually leave an impact on the modern gaming industry.
Not to mention I enjoy the big games (BF3 has 2 discs and Final Fantasy XIII has 3!). I prefer this as I enjoy the nostalgia of switching out discs (I had the first 2 PlayStations, big whoop).

Now for PS3, don't get me wrong. I love this system to death. I grew up with PlayStation! But sadly, it just wasn't able to pull me in like the Xbox 360 was able to. I still go back to play some of the exclusives, such as Uncharted (love it) and Killzone (love it too~). I also love the idea of it doubling as a Blu-Ray player, since Blu-Rays look amazing on a 1080p display and the discs range from 25GB to 50GB (dual layered).
PlayStation is great, but I can't really stick with it. The lack of social interaction (Parties) and an organized store leaves little to anticipate. Again, this is all out of personal preference.

And the Wii... How I love it so. Nintendo never fails to disappoint, and the Wii shows it. Yeah, the graphics may be no better than a PS2, but I was never able to find a game on any other company's systems that had as much impact on me as Nintendo has. They're all about quality, and they never disappoint. The controller was innovative and worked well, along with the amazing software library. Where else can you save the world from evil with Link, explore the outer reaches of space with Mario, or explore an ancient alien race with Samus?

(Not really a PC gamer; my laptop sucks lol)

I have a ps3 and 360 and pc. love them all (play some pc games with 360 controller too) the ps3 is fantastic when you jailbreak it (like any ipod\iphone) you can play Zelda and mario and all roms on it as well as play any video files with the free software "Showtime" also you can play games from a hard drive or even a flash drive (Not telling you to pirate, You can rip your own legit games to harddrive to have faster load times and not wear out the blu laser) I only have one blu ray movie (scott pilgrim lvl up version) and it works well except the playback can take forever to get to the movie (so many unskippable adds) basically consoles are a really awesome option compared to gaming pc's. and some games work better on different machines ( has some great comparison articles where they test multiplatform games) I just love games is what I'm trying to say...I guess.

you sir are a brother in gaming, i have all three as well, love all three, like the xbox more because the online is better. but i still love my ps3 and wii. i play killzone amd mag (love the massive battles) the shop on xbox is better. yes you play free with the ps3, but you get what you pay for. and i also have a decent pc. i usually play the big rts games on it like age of empires and the total war games. as well as some mmo's (allods is my favorite one, free russian WoW XD) i love all games.
#364 to #57 - toughmcbuff (01/06/2012) [-]
I own all 3 and a fairly decent gaming laptop. (No where near as good as the cutting edge computers obviously, but it runs modern games decently.)

Xbox. I ******* love halo. The only reason i bought it and occasionally pay for live on it. Seriously.

PS3. I prefer this system and it's features such as youtube and bbciplayer (I hear xbox recently got these. Not tried yet but i'm impressed.) I mainly play this so i dont have to pay for xbox live. I love the MGS series and have a few old FF games downloaded from ps store. I have a few other exclusives like uncharted but don't really care for them that much. Most of my freinds are on this too, so that definatley gives it the unfair bias from me.

Wii. Bought it for super smash bros brawl. Was a little disappointed (Don't get me wrong, epic game, but melee will always be my favorite.) Got mario kart on it too and its ******* terrible. Have some party games for when friends come over and we get drunk and just wanna **** around being ninjas or dancing or whatever.

PC. Meh... I honestly prefer FPS games on consoles. Pc has "better" controls, but i honestly feel the console controller makes it more fun and challenging than just point and click with a mouse. I mainly play rougelikes, indiegames and online games on the PC. Plus consoles have much better communties for games. (Well. Bigger.)
Only console games i prefer on PC are ones with awesome mods. Like just cause 2 infinite ropes. That game is so much fun.

In conslusion, PS3 and 360 are basically the same thing with some cool games of their own and different interesting tools. PS3 online is free. I'll always hate sony for not putting a decent PS2 emulator in the PS3 though. Some of my favorite games even today are for PS2, and mine broke. :(
Wii is a piece of **** for the most casual of gamers, but can be pretty fun with a high enough blood alcohol level.
PC is technically the best. But it misses some good games and many ports are awful.

I agree with everything you said, but I must say that I think you're underselling the PS3. I mean, Uncharted is great and all, but it and Killzone are hardly the best the console has to offer.

The Infamous games and the Resistance series (excepting Resistance 2, which was crap) are expertly made pieces of entertainment, not to mention the connections it has to other PlayStation series, like Metal Gear Solid, Jak & Daxter, or Ratcher & Clank.

Plus, despite the most recent models, the PS3 has had - to my knowledge, at least - more backwards compatibility than the Xbox ever has. I got one of the original ones, so I can play literally any PlayStation game that's ever existed - in that regard, it's kind of like getting 3 consoles in one machine.

Additionally, the PS3's raw power has allowed for devs to take some new steps in gaming - Heavy Rain, for instance. Not saying that it was a masterpiece, but it was an innovation for the entire industry in terms of what a video game was.

That's my two cents, anyway.
User avatar #545 to #196 - JNAtheDUDE (01/06/2012) [-]
I have the PS3 slim, which removed PS2 backwards compatibility altogether. It was enough to bump the PS3 down for me because my PS2 is broken and I have no idea how to convince my parents to buy me a system that's 11 years old. XD

I don't play on the PC much, but I'm fine with the other three. They all have their benefits, including the Wii. It just depends on what type of gamer you are and what game you're playing.
