I'm AmeriLamar Smith too, but yes. You need to be 18 to legally enter one of Amsterdam's coffee shops. And you must live in Amsterdam for at least one year to legally enter a coffee shop there (to reduce drug tourism).

People do it anyways as weed is not exactly legal. Weed is actually very much illegal but generations of authorities have chosen to ignore it and in the end even regulated it. Coffeeshops in Amsterdam get most of their income through tourists and it is illegal for a police-officer to go through your pockets anyways.

TL;DR: No-one gives two shits about this regulation.

mijn tante heeft kanker gehad, en mijn moeder heeft ook een tumor gehad, maar dat was niet kwaadaardig, dus ik weet wel hoe kanker werkt, maar nogmaals, ik scheld dus niet met kanker omdat ik mensen die ziekte wil aansmeren, want anders zeg ik wel 'hey, belg, krijg de kanker'.... en ik scheld ook niet met kanker omdat ik die ziekte niet erg vind...

Klopt inderdaad, misschien dat ik wat overdreven heb... Ik probeer het nuOH PEEde Nederlanders te schuiven, maar het probleem ligt algemeen... Ik had dit gesprek even goed met een Belg kunnen voeren, want ik begrijp ook wel waarom Belgen ook als dom aangezien worden. Nogmaals het probleem ligt niet bij de Nederlanders alleen.

Just come back from Amsterdam myself. Definitely the best trip I've ever had; in both senses. But apparently they're making the selling of Weed in coffee shops illegal to a degree, and not allowing people from outside the Netherlands, or anyone who doesn't hold a Dutch passport, smoke it any more.
