I know smoking is bad. I know smoking can kill you. But you know what, if someone wants to smoke a cig, let them. I don't see anyone giving me **** for drinking Red Bull, which could make me die of a ******* heart attack if I drank enough of them at once. But apparently caffeine is still a socially-acceptable drug like anti-depressants.

If smoking only killed you, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but your cigarette produces crap for everyone to inhale. You can feel free to kill yourself through energy drinks if you want, because those don't create immediate harm to those around you.

Seeing as how there are large cities veiled in smog, our main source of power for our vehicles is still gasoline, there are still coal-burning power plants, charcoal BBQ grills, and the fact that there are still wood-burning fireplaces, cigarettes are hardly a greater pollutant. Smokers these days tend to stand outside a building or in a designated smoking area to smoke. This is hardly taxing on non-smoker's lungs, considering all the other crap floating around in the air from other greater sources of pollution.

TL;DR: Smoke from cigarettes is bad for your health, but air pollutants from other sources are A-OK to breathe, apparently.

Look it's not the same, if you drink red bull you don't harm anyone else except yourself. If you, however, smoke a cigarette you're "poisoning" everyone else around you, mostly against their will.

Not if they make you crazy. Every person I've known who taken anti-depressants get better for a short period of time before completely flipping out. I myself have an issue with depression, but quite frankly, I'd rather be miserable and have my wits about me than be numb and suicidal. If it's socially acceptable to want to slit your wrists for no apparent reason, there's something dreadfully wrong with society. That's just my opinion. :/

true, I personally believe though that depressed people are depressed because of themselves, hell I was there too and I realized that well being happy is fun. People need to learn how to cope with stress or it just swallows you up, smoking or slitting your wrists is just a means to escape. now excuse me as I go smoke.

TL;DR I'm a hypocrite
