I like Ron Paul, he'd be a great president, but the media doesn't care for him. He always comes in around third place in various popularity polls but the news doesn't cover that. In fact, in a 90 minute debate sponcered by CBS, he was only allowed to speak for 89 seconds. He'll get my vote even if he doesn't win. Stupid biased media.

Funny thing is, he's TRUE Republican. He's actually where Republicans used to be and the Republicans and Democrats are so far right that he looks Democratic.

Ron Paul doesn't opposes the separation of Church and States. That alone should convince you to never ever vote for him...

After watching this video, Ron Paul. 100% Ron Paul. He speaks the truth, but only gets shot down. He is going to give what the people want, not what the government wants, and that scares them.

I've supported ron for years, and I think he's got what it takes to make us a truly free society. He doesn't believe in sacrificing freedom for other things, that's what makes him great. Do any of know the feeling of freedom? I sure don't.
Pic related, I's me, mom and bro, and Paul

He actually isn't a republican. He's a Libertarian. It's just difficult to win president with a third party ticket. So he's trying for the Republican ticket.
#156 to #79 - johnstyron (12/01/2011) [-]
since you seem smart, i was just wondering, who was the last Libertarian president we had?? (also I love everything this man is talking about, but i'm afraid once he's elected, he's gonna break almost all his promises like Obama did. is that likely? )
User avatar #169 to #156 - Serjical (12/01/2011) [-]
All of the Libertarian Presidential tickets have gotten less than 1% of the electoral college (which should be destroyed). Except one. Ed Clark and David Koch got 1.06% in '80.
You really don't know what the next president will do. It's a difficult time to be president, with the war and the economy going on. But I still respect Obama, being a Libertarian myself.
User avatar #306 to #79 - allamericandude (12/01/2011) [-]
Libertarians tend to side with Republicans because they share a lot of the same viewpoints on the economy. The difference between hard-right Republicans and Libertarians is the way they handle social issues. Libertarians tend to be economically conservative but socially liberal.
#114 to #79 - dthorste (12/01/2011) [-]
He's won as a republican 10 times in texas. besides, republican and libertarian are totally different entities. Republican means you promote a governing republic while libertarian is an ideology regarding the nature of individual liberties. He is actually a constitutional republican libertarian

The sad thing is that Ron Paul might not win the conservative candidate spot on the ballot. Last time I had seen a poll he was 3rd overall roughly. Even if he runs independent he still wouldn't get the win. We're too stuck in a two-party system.
User avatar #54 to #52 - ihaventsleptyetfml (11/30/2011) [-]
Let's do something about it..?
User avatar #56 to #54 - KyBornSon (11/30/2011) [-]
I agree. I mean when the time comes I'll probably be voting for this guy in the primary. But I have my doubts that he'll win that. If he doesn't and he runs independent, I'll vote for him then, but independent candidates typically don't do well. Other than that I don't know what all else to do, other than revolt but that is even less likely to happen.
