I hate the EU. That's worse than any other country, even USA. I don't like the US's government, but I think the people might be nice in some of the states.

If people call people from the USA americans,
And there is nothing else we can call them,
And no one calls other countries in NA/SA america specifically,
And NA/SA are called the AmericaS,
And "america" is an accepted term for the USA
Then what the **** do you expect people to call the USA?

US and USA are also much mooore shorter than america. Well I'll never understand the USA. It has various points of view, yet the dollar bill says (god bless "america") ..

"god bless the US" would rhyme, by the way.

USA or US citizens are formal accepted terms. Some informal terms include, yankees and gringos. In Europe you don't see any country being called "EUROPE", so...

No? EU is not Europe. The EU is like a country. One people, one rich and one president. A constitution, a flag, a currency and a anthem.

European UNION. It's not like a country, it's a union.

England are part of the EU but they don't hve the money, and don't follow all the rules etc.

Well they are a state. When the Lisbon treaty was introduced they gave their power over to Brussels. Now EU law comes before the constitution and the way they are heading is to a European Super State.

What the **** are you talking about?

The European Union is a trade union. It was created after WW2, and it's purpouses was to maintain peace in Europe, and to keep European countries economic super powers.

The EU works nothing like a country. Each country has it's own inderpendent goverment.

The EU is not one people. Each country has its own nationality (+ minorities in each country)

Well let's look at the facts then.

In 1951 there was something created called "The European Coal and Steel community" It's purpose was to make war between France and Germany very unlikely. Then some treaties ran through and then it became the European Community and it was a this time something of a trade agreement too. EFTA was created in a force against this were every nation traded with each other without needing the EC. A trade agreement was established with EFTA and EC. Later on many of these countries joined the EC and in 1994 Maastricht Treaty came into force and then it changed it name to European Union because it was now more of a political union than it was before.

In 2004 it was a talk about the European constitution. This would include that EU got: A Foreign Minister, a President, EU law comes before Nation law included constitution, the countries loses their veto in the European parliament, EU gets a national Anthem and many more things.
The French and Dutch had a referendum on this and their answer became no. This wasn't liked in the European parliament, but since every nation had a veto, what could they do? They remade it. Instead of calling it a constitution they called it a treaty.
Now they could be happy because now no one could ask for a referendum... except for Ireland. According to their constitution they had to have a referendum and their answer became no. Now the EU politicians became mad. They wouldn't accept the Irish NO so they forced them to vote again the next year and then they fell for it and it went through.

Now EU law comes before nation law and many people who control the EU haven't been elected by the European people. For example Herman van Rompuy or Catherine Ashton. The EU acts like if they were a nation. Just look at it and tell me you don't see similarities with the EU and a nation like the USA.

The EU is meant to be a trade union. Some how though, it's managed to slowly manipulate itself to the point that it is pretty much a country.
It's not a good idea though. Look at the UK. Each country gets along OK, but each has it's own distinct people with different beliefs. As much as uniting people is always great, in practice it doesn't work. The peoples of Europe are so different as well, hell there must be 50 different languages spoken in the EU. As much as being a single great nation and superpower would be great, it's unrealistic, and will never work, and the EU should go back to what it was originally meant to be. A trade union.

Son, do you happen to live in northern Africa and got it confused for America? Because then what you just said MIGHT make sense.

I live in a low income area. My school struggles to teach grammar and lessons in general, but somehow succeeds because of the NCLB act threatening our funding. I can tell you that if your school REALLY was like that, in America, your school would be closed so fast you wouldn't have time to pack up all your things in your locker.

America is god awful at times, but at least by threatening schools we've maintained a certain standard in educating children. It's not the system, it's lazy/stupid ***** like you who can't be bothered to remember the lessons.

Do you see what retarded situations other countries get in?

Or do you only see the things people bitch about on the news? Do you only see the people you know closely? Do you take for granted what you've got? Do you only watch the nuts in your country and think that other countries don't have em?

while the goverment can do whatever the **** they want (ie invade contries without the permission from ONU, bomb other countries) as in the japan bombings. they bombed 2 huge cities killing hundreds of thousands of inocent people, while terrorists groups send a plane onto the twin towers killin 3000 inocent people.

"Celebrate"
T... Try mourn. >->

The reason that we mourn 9/11, but don't care as much about the bombing of Japan, is because 9/11 hit home and was recent. Generally, people don't mourn losses of other countries or time frames.
For example: Did you see people whining over a battle in Athens anymore?

The bombings did shock the world, but I'm sure people were only thinking "What if they did that to us? (Does anyone actually remember the damage Japan did to the US? And not just pearl harbor? A single name from the people killed in the bombing? The people who carried the bomb? No, the focus is all on the bombs.)

We can recognize it was bad and people were lost, but it is not nearly as influential until people you know die.

yes the Treaty of Versailles was a bit harsh but when america called back all of it's debt it made it worse and people would not of been so desperate to vote for Hitler in Germany, and do you expect Clemenceau to sit back and do nothing, if someone just destroyed my country i would want the leader to do something about it and take action against it, so i don't blame him. Plus i am guessing we should blame the bankers at this time really, America was not built on a family of bankers like Europe (Rothschild family) so ill give them credit but there system of government if ****** up, a free country which can only vote for 2 parties i think, bit harsh don't you think?
