I haven't read this but I know of it and a little of the story... but the saddest thing I've read about was... practically the whole story of the Majere twins in the Dragonlance Chronicles and the War of the Twins trilogy. Although.. probably not as sad as the scene you mentioned./
Great fantasy books though.. almost as great as Lord of the Rings.

#134 to #126 - anon (11/23/2011) [-]
Nope, He was killed with a luger (A german pistol) that was specific'd in the novel!

It sounds familiar, Was it the story where a man with down syndrome was tested the same tests that mice were? If it was, then i nearly cried. If not, I'm stupid.

I have a feeling the one you're thinking of is Flowers for Algernon, which is indeed a ridiculously sad book. I am not ashamed to admit I shed a few tears while reading it.

Flowers for Algernon, that was it. Thanks

You've apparently never read "Tears of a Tiger." When Andy's little brother was praying to him at the end, I couldn't hold back the tidal wave of tears from my ducts.

Of course we can lennie.

And then we'll have all kinds of animals, right George?

And we can have a farm full of rabbi-

I'm definitely a Potter fan. I grew up with that **** , and I'm not afraid to tell everyone that I love it. As for Twilight, I'm not the type to judge something prematurely, so I'll admit that I read all 4 books. The vampires were incredibly lame compared to their classic counterparts, yes, but that's not what bothered me. It was Bella herself. A bland, boring, depressing girl whose willing to crash a motorcycle and fling herself off a cliff just because her boyfriend leaves her, toy with another guy's emotions before rejecting him, and then get knocked up straight out of school? Sorry, but I'll take a brainy, brave, confident Hermione over that any day. It's really too bad that so many young girls would rather look to Bella as a heroine. She has nothing to offer.

I read the twilight series after my mom suggested it and as much as I hated Bella ( I did find she was boring, although normal because that's how most girls are other than cliff diving and **** , we're pretty ******* boring.) I found Edward more irritating because that pussy was bipolar or some **** . The reason I DID like the series (here come the red thumbs) is because beneath all the lame vampire **** and random twists and turns it is actually a nice love story.

Sorry, just felt like saying that. I also do love Harry Potter, and agree that the story line is much better. Read it when I was about 10 and read the whole series a few times over as I got older.

Agree with all but I Am Legend. I can't like that movie since I read the book first. They are NOTHING alike.
User avatar #34 to #32 - KFCownz (11/23/2011) [-]
what gets you in I Am Legend is when the dog dies though

and how can you not like a Will smith movie :O
#35 to #34 - genericusernameone (11/23/2011) [-]
True. That poor dog.

I don't like it because it's not accurate to call it I Am Legend. The whole point of the novel - that he was the monster that stalked the vampires' drams at the end (the legend) and that humans were the freaks - totally evaporated in the movie.

Robert Neville was legend. Will Smith was not legend.

Fair enough had that happen to me to a couple of books

Just hope the Hunger Games movies wont do that

It's not a movie but what about that episode of Doctor Who where the Doctor is using some weird science **** to project an image of himself and it disappears right before he could finish saying "I love you" to Rose who is trapped in another universe?

I cry like a bitch each time.

I watched Twilight once. About thirty seconds in it really started to hurt. So after about 4 minutes I gave up. Later on my friends told me I hadn't been watching Twilight, I'd been jerking off with sandpaper. So I asked them what the difference was.
