OKAY EVERYONE PLEASE CHILL THE **** OUT. I'm just trying to meet some conservative funny junkers to share views with and have a laugh with conservative humor. I never meant to start a war on this thread. I never even intended for liberals to read it. So how about we all just chill while I go ahead and thumb up every post on here, even the liberal ones. Alright? We all be bros here on fj.

what I'll give libertarians is that at least they are logically consistent which is something that can hardly be said for democrats and republicans anymore

lol this is probably the only conservative thread on funny junk so **** off, we can develop our own independent opinions just as well as you can and your assumption that we just "say what our parents say" is uncalled for, demeaning, and completely ignorant.
User avatar #32 to #31 - AdventureCrew (11/08/2011) [-]
dont jump the gun buddy, it's proven that (most) kids have the same political views as their parents until they move out and actually realized what a conservative and a liberal is. Don't be so defensive, i didn't insult or demean anyone
User avatar #69 to #32 - usafperson (11/08/2011) [-]
yea, u did because you made the assumption that all of us, as conservatives, just, as you put it, "say what our parents say". This, as you pointed out there, can go both ways but is often not the case. We DO know what conservative means and we DO have opinions and have the right to have them just as much as you do, even if we did get them from our parents. I have a very conservative friend who has liberal parents. My parents did not influence me very much politically either because my dad never spoke about politics, and still never does, and my mom didn't know anything about politics until I taught her. Yea, I influenced my mom a lot more than either of my parents influenced me. And calling us, "you kids"? If that isn't demeaning and overly-condescending, I don't know what is.
User avatar #71 to #69 - AdventureCrew (11/09/2011) [-]
whats a conservative then? educate my ignorant ass
User avatar #72 to #71 - usafperson (11/10/2011) [-]
its pretty self-explanatory. We want to "conserve" the older values of america, very basically. We usually align with republicans and libertarians, and mostly vote republican in presidential elections. But this is not always the case, as there can be conservative democrats, but it's more rare. There are also economic and social conservatives. Economic conservatives believe in free market, capitalism, lower taxes on everyone, and are against over-powerful unions. Social conservatives are largely split on the legalization of pot, are strictly pro-life, and are huge on civil rights in general, but so are many liberals. That's conservatives in a nut shell. So, sir, how about you tell me what a liberal is?

Thank you sir for this wonderful post, the memes are decent but the fact that we have fought back means something. i was starting to fear funnyjunk had tilted to the left D: after all right is right :)
User avatar #2 to #1 - tuppence [OP](11/07/2011) [-]
I just posted it to make things fair, I'm not too bothered by (rational) left wing politics, but if they're gonna have a go at the right wingers then they must expect us to give them **** too. Although preferably FunnyJunk would be better being completely devoid of political issues, but that goes against human nature I suppose.

Can someone explain the "Illegal War" one to me? Because I'm pretty knowledgeable with the powers of the president and it makes no sense to me.
#50 to #49 - mrbah (11/08/2011) [-]
Libya got UN backup, Iraq did not...
imo Iraq was an illegal war, and people in Libia were actually wanting our support.
#53 to #50 - dailytoker (11/08/2011) [-]
So did Iraqi's unless you're talking about just the extremist.
#59 to #53 - mrbah (11/08/2011) [-]
still the usa could not get a mandate by the UN.
As the iraq officialy did not want any "support" and the UN is not allowed to interfere into a nations buissnes.
#52 to #50 - soulreavermt (11/08/2011) [-]
But the President is, was, and for the foreseeable future, will be the Master and Chief. Which gives him the right to do what he feels is necessary with what standing forces we have. If we get attacked and we show that they are in China, we would put standing forces in China. And we need no approval of the UN to legally do anything with our troops. The only thing that would have made it an illegal war is if Congress would have politically declared war on Iraq. And until that happens, we're just over there following the orders that the Master and Chief gives out.
User avatar #55 to #52 - ArkansasDave (11/08/2011) [-]

I don't see where your doubts are coming from. This confuses me.
I like your first post, despite the fact that I have never heard the term 'Master and Chief', despite being a vet. This arouses me.
So, in lieu of my sleep-deprived mind providing a suitable conversation partner, I leave you with this.

1. Grammar. I'm going off of grammar. Using an improper word for a term or phrase would be what is technically a "misnomer".
2. This is the internet so you could be a 12 year old whose balls haven't even dropped. Yet you say you're a vet and I have extreme respect for them so you end up neutralizing the whole thing.
And finally 3. I'm referring to my *********** Government textbook from which I am currently studying.

And nice GIF. So I leave you with this feel funny. Take note that it's not feel junk.

**** man, i love seeing people go polar opposites in politics depending on whose president. sure there's burn your bra, don't shave liberal chick int his meme. and theres the ******* tea party on the conservative side. and it's funny to see it because when there's a democratic president (that screws up, does something no one agrees with) all you find are republicans everywhere, and when there's a republican president (that screws up, does something no one agrees with) you only find democrats everywhere. it's the best thing in the world to me.
#51 to #26 - mrbah (11/08/2011) [-]
can you explain the tea party?
i just dont get them.
#60 to #51 - hxcwaywardson (11/08/2011) [-]
neither do i, and i don't get the ridiculous far left liberals (they haven't been stupid enough to call them selves some retarded ass name so i guess that's what i'll call them) and i really don't get the occupywallst movement

the world could learn to not be so polar. i'd love to explain my views, but **** that too many conflicting ideas i vote by what makes sense to me (i changed my major after getting half an economics degree with some political science mixed in). i and both parties piss me off from time to time, but it's always gonna swing back and forth. people just need to learn to calm their tits.
#61 to #60 - mrbah (11/08/2011) [-]
i dont quite get the occupy everything stuff aswell, my country had a giant riot against nuclear power plants and the politicans shut everything down (after fukushima)
Now we are facing a winter without power.

We are currently buying nuclear power from our neighbor states.

oh damn. that's awful. it's an overreaction thing that happens out of fear.....
i'm guessing you're from germany? (i haven't heard much about this i live in the middle of the US)
#22 - anon (11/08/2011) [-]
The first one is definitely true.
(and it helps that I know a girl who is something like .25% Native American and she's always bitching about Europeans because of it.)

The Lybia one is wrong though. We full on invaded Iraq, wasting a huge amount of resources. In Lybia, Gaddafi was killed with minimal US investment.

Honestly, I'm sick and tired of all the left wing ******** I see here, but that doesn't mean I want to see the right wing either.

To be fair to the OP, there are no conservative posts here for as long as I've been surfing as an annon, I've never seen a post on the right side of the political spectrum. most likely because it isn't cool to be a republican and most kids these days just go by what they read on the internet or hear from their favorite celebrity (Because it's really smart to take political advice from men and women who have didn't graduate middle school)

So, on one hand I clap my hands that you made this content, it's nice to see some diversity on this seemingly liberal site. I'm fairly conservative myself and agree with a lot of it, so there's a part of me that want's more of this....

but then the other part of me that just wants to laugh at funny things and not have to deal with all the stupid debates that this place spawns wants to kick your face in....

I'm so...conflicted...

I personally think the idea of labeling oneself as either a conservative or a liberal is just about as stupid as one can get. I take each topic or issue and then judge it according to my own personal beliefs, and why I think its implementation would either succeed or fail; not what some group of people says I should like. I tend to have both very liberal and very conservative ideas.

I think the entire two party government setup is idiotic. It's the "sophisticated" version of a COD vs BF flame war.
User avatar #65 to #47 - TheNewRavager (11/08/2011) [-]
Oops. I gave an opinion that differs from that of the conservative group that this post caters to. Ironically enough, the bottom right picture makes fun of liberals for supposedly not being open-minded. Hmm....what happened here then?

Guys... splitting Funnyjunk into groups just like the rest of the world isn't helpful to anyone. I don't know about you guys, but I don't come here to be bombarded with political/religious ******** one way or the other. I see a comment like #16 and it just makes me sad.
