heres how to get it to work:

1. pour your friend some soda

2. throw mentos in when friend isnt looking.

Not my own idea, but here goes:

Take a needle with a thread and stick it through the mentos. Tie a knot on one end, so the thread doesn't slip out. Take a bottle of coke/pepsi, unscrew the cap, and put the mentos (with the thread) in the cap. Screw the cap back on, but make the thread stick out so that the thread is kept in place by the cap and the top of the bottleneck. Use a scissor to cut off the remaining piece of the string so that it's not visible.

Now, when your victim unscrews the cap, the thread is released, letting the mentos fall into the coke/pepsi.

the mentos cola reaction happens because the mentos has millions of tiny groves and dents in them where the Co2 can form bubbles.

putting the mentos in water in order to make ice cubes causes that surface to melt and become smooth.

no you must pre-freeze half cubes and create a cavity where you can lay the mentos in. then using a small amount of water you freeze the cubes together. this creates a hollow cube with a dry mentos in the middle. when cola seeps into the cube the rapid Co2 release will break the cube and start the mentos+cola fountain as normal.

this is some ******* effort to make but i tried at and it really works!
also, by scraping out the mentos chanber the ice becomes white and dull, this makes it look less suspicious.

not really , because the thing on mentos that reacts with coke its it glazing on the top of the mentos , so when you put it in water it will melt until it freezes . good idea tho :)
