at first it would be aukward i guess, but the ditto would transform into a ditto, so i guess it would be ok, because it would be an eevee, or else it wouldn't be able to breed at all.

Actually, like 85% of all Eevees are boys. The rest are girls. That goes for all its evolutions as well ^^
