And then you forget the Orre, Fiore, and Oblivia regions. Also Unova, but can understand why that one isn't on the map because its in America.
User avatar #112 - Jesusnipples ONLINE (08/01/2011) [-]
...wow. I knew about the Japan thing, but do you guys realize how many more games there are going to be if they use this entire map...?

Pokemon Hiroshima?
User avatar #99 - herkadur (08/01/2011) [-]
Just google PokeEarth or go to Serebii Dot Net. This is totally fake.
User avatar #101 to #99 - misterducklumps (08/01/2011) [-]
This is where they got the idea for the maps, not the actual Poke Earth. I know in the pokemon world, Hoenn is south of Kanto and Johto, and Sinnoh is far east.

Or it could be a coincidence. :/

Using this as a reference (credit to whomever posted this picture), I believe that the theory about the pokemon world being ravaged by a war (I'm sure most people are familiar with it) can be crudely explained. The absence of the GREAT majority of middle aged men, women and children running around doing everything, Japan is the alleged setting of all these regions, and the slight mention of the UNOVA region (not familiar with that as much as another). The Japanese from what I have read in the past tend bring the spotlight to their own country (basing a game hypothetically on their own soil is a good example). In this world, this massive war bears great resemblance to the Second World War, only it was fought alongside pokemon.

I'm sure this probably has been thought of before but this is just my two cents
User avatar #105 to #80 - AbsentMinded (08/01/2011) [-]
Would explain the absence of Red and Ash's Fathers. But would probably mean that the Events of PKMN Red would have taken place between 1935-1955.
User avatar #106 to #105 - Flammenwerfer ONLINE (08/01/2011) [-]
Most likely yes, and this makes me wonder how the rest of the war was fought... like in Europe
User avatar #107 to #106 - AbsentMinded (08/01/2011) [-]
Lt. Surge is an American.

'Lt. Surge is known as The Lightning American. Apparently, he is or was an American soldier who fought in at least one war, during which Electric-type Pokémon saved his life. As a member of the army, Surge was a strict CO, and was rather cautious. He was a pilot as well, and used Electric-type Pokémon to power his planes, a practice that in at least one occasion saved his life. Also, Surge saved the life of one of the Trainers in his gym who was in the army at the same time.' - Bulbapedia.
User avatar #108 to #107 - Flammenwerfer ONLINE (08/01/2011) [-]
After the war and bombing American forces occupied the Japanese home islands, so his presence there doesn't surprise me. But what does surprise me would be that there aren't more of him...
User avatar #110 to #108 - AbsentMinded (08/01/2011) [-]
Well, The trainers in the gym count, I presume.
User avatar #111 to #110 - Flammenwerfer ONLINE (08/01/2011) [-]
huh....
I guess that's the only plausible explanation.

Good research :D
User avatar #113 to #111 - AbsentMinded (08/01/2011) [-]
Does it mean anything that In the Pokemon Adventures Manga, Surge is a team rocket leader who trys to steal Pokemon using the S.S Anne and Attempts to Kill Red?
User avatar #115 to #113 - Flammenwerfer ONLINE (08/01/2011) [-]
No clue on that one xD
If we assume Team Rocket represents the Japanese Yakuza gangsters after the war... (which is how i saw them)

then I'm not sure what to make of it
User avatar #94 to #80 - SuperDiglett (08/01/2011) [-]
Pokemon are mutated animals after the atom bombs? Idk man, but you blew my mind..
User avatar #100 to #94 - Flammenwerfer ONLINE (08/01/2011) [-]
Quite possibly, but if that were the case then two things would have had to happen for things to hold steady.
1. Pokemon were claimed to be used as weapons during this "war" (They were)
2. After the atom bombs (Which coincidentally would have been dropped near the Johto [hiroshima] and Hoenn regions [nagasaki]), Japan didn't surrender and the war continued.

huh.... interesting...!!

I've seen this before...

Yet in all of "Misterducklumps" comments he makes it seem as though he made it.
Ex: "I only put the four MAIN regions on there"

Seems legit.
