Anonymous is actually a group doing some good in the world. Of course I'm not talking about the ********* on /b/ using anonymous as veil to cover up their own insecurity. I'm talking about the ones fighting for things like Freedom of Information, etc.

/b/ created anon idiot. some of the only people that participate in the Scientology raids are *********. And how does /b/ use anon as a veil for their insecurity? The word insecurity has lost it's meaning on the Internet. Funnyjunk rags on /b/ when /b/ provides basically 99% of Funnyjunk's content (Rage guy, ability to roll, advice dog spin-offs troll face, etc.) Think before posting.

However you are hiding behind a screen name. Your identity to me is anonymous. A screen name like CaptainJohnPrice is not nearly as informative as your name. I don't know you and I never will. So to me you are anonymous. The only people who know who you are, are the ones you tell. Only you have control of releasing your personal information to others. So in retrospect all screen names are just alias; or people as you said '[covering] up their own insecurity.'

No, there is facebook and youtube and bank accounts or saving bonds, several of stuff where personal information is released.

Well said, although I don't think encouraging people to do good in the world is a way to cover up your own security. thumb for you,

Anonymous can't seem to tell the difference between Freedom of Information and National Security. It's fine to expose corrupt politics, but it's just stupid to release harmful military secrets.

V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

[carves V into wall]

V: The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

[giggles]

V: Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Evey Hammond: Are you like a crazy person?

V: I'm quite sure they will say so.

Itš an Oscar Wilde quote. And a true on a that.
People are afraid to say what they feel because of the the tabus of modern society and the public pressure. Give a man anonimity, like on FJ, as an account is hardly equal to speaking in person, and people will say what they want, what they truly want.

People speak using offensive words to get the anger of the day out. And because we are all racist and ignorant down below.
