This the worst attack website I have seen. Are you happy to attack others? Do you feel better now?

Why are you aggressively attacking religion? Were you asked for your opinion of religion, as if it mattered? Or is your lack of faith and direction finally coming to fruition?

"The bible also says "The Lord helps those who help themselves." So cram those silly little comments where the good Lord gave you an exit."
rofl, try reading a bible before you talk such bullcrap. The bible does NOT say that or anything like that. kthxbai...
I'm a Christian and I agree with this in every way. People are idiots, every single one of us. Also I don't believe even a fraction of the people who go to church are "christians" but that's another debate in itself...

Why encourage Christianity by making images like this? Its pretty pathetic that you would take time out of your day to publicize a religion you don't agree with. Stop being so judgmental, you're not behaving much better than them.

Of Free will and cognitive ability give us the capacity to make judgements and observe the world. I would think a benevolent god would rather see his creations live honestly, and believe what their mind and rationale lead them to. Not to simply rely on a book which was written by countless authors over hundreds of years, which consistently contradicts itself. To live a lie and believe in a god simply as a "back up" would be a terrible crime against the abilities we all have as human beings.

And if the argument arises that "You cant prove that god doesn't exist!" Please spare me. Science is based on proving existence, not disproving it. Show me proof that the secret to microwaves is not in fact a small purple man living within the circuits. Or fairies. Or an elephant. You cant, the argument is completely unsubstantiated and poorly structured.
An Athiest would be religious immediately following substantial proof of a divine essence. Alas, our "god given gifts"

Please do yourselves a favor and do a bit of research... Use your common sense. Religion exists to control people into a structured, governable mass. The only reason we have Christianity is because the Roman Emperor Constantine saw its massive potential to join the pagan tribes of his empire.
The epiphany: far more could be done through a more humanistic approach, if we cared for others ourselves, and did not rely on a god to send our prayers to, imagine the productive possibilities...

It would be even better if all those millions of upper
middle-class people would just stop on their way to
church and shoot all those lazy motherfuckers.

Listen here ANON, I grew up on a Roman Catholic family and trust me. it was hell. I know what religion is. You just don't get the deeper meaning of that pic. Why don't you read up everything religion is not because aren't Christians supposed to be accepting everyone no matter what beliefs they have and not try to shove their own crock o' shit down everyone else's throats?

guess I have to create an account to drop the anon? I grew up in a protestant family (different denominations... I don't put much stock in such titles anymore, I've met good and bad people under many titles). I know what hypocrisy is and have seen it all over the place, but is that a good reason to give up religion?
I try to follow Jesus and care for others. I fail at times, but I'm not claiming to be perfect. Christians are supposed to love everyone, love can be different from tolerance.

I said "accepting" not "love". Accepting pretty much means to tolerate. And I gave up religion because I was sick of trying to live my life like others want me to. So i say, I'll live my life to my standards because who knows? Maybe Judaism or some other "title" is correct ans you get to "heaven" and they deny you because you didn't live your life to their standards.? All I'm saying is I don't think you're less of a person for being religious, but I know how I feel and I know what I believe and I don't need someone to tell me to look something up in a book that hasn't even been proved to be true yet. And just so you know, I'm getting "Roman-Catholic" put on my dogtags.

Yeah, I know you said accepting, I just have seen much more about love in the Bible than acceptance.
I guess Christianity as I see it isn't really about standards, which in a way sets it apart from Judaism or something else. Christ's death fulfilled the law, no one could possibly hope to live up to it. Because he did this for us, we should love him and follow him, which involves loving others and giving up bad habits.
definitely agree on that last point, personhood doesn't rely on creed.

I don't necessarily, or at least I can't give you concrete evidence.
If nothing put us here, we have no reason to do anything other than what is most pleasing to us. Even if what is most pleasing is pedophilia, rape, or murder because this life is only about the individual.

For some reason, we are born with a natural instinct that pleasures that cause others harm are wrong. Atheists say this is a evolutionary device to keep us from going extinct. Even so we have the ability to reason, Thus we should have a lot more mass murderers.
Basically, if there is no god, there is no purpose, there are little things like a conscience that point to there being a god.
wow... this thread kinda went nuts

I can't give a great answer in 500 characters...
As for why Christianity? IMHO it gives the best answer. I really suggest you do some research and find the answer yourself.
Christianity presupposes that humans are fallen (most religions do this) and that we can't do anything to fix it (most religions don't do this). We are forced to rely on the grace of God, which he miraculously gives freely.

Cause I used to be all like "Let's help people because that's what Jesus wants us to do :D" but now i just help people because they deserve it. I don't need to do anything just to prove that I'm "good" or anything like that. I do it because most of the time you just see others walk by problems instead of fixing them or giving a helping hand.

Well then i guess i should have worded it differently huh? The words in this pic have some truth to them, but think about this, i don't really have a set religion because nothing has been proven to be correct and nothing will be proven to be correct until we die, and until then I'll live my life as best as i can.

I am a Christian, and this is wrong (not incorrect, but the situation described by the pic). Jesus calls for us to help the homeless, the poor, the sick, etc. Its how he lived, and we have no excuse not to follow his example. If you're curious about what Christianity is really about, I would suggest reading John and paying specific attention to Jesus. You might find him different from the Christians you know, but I hope you know someone who strives to be like him.

Go read Euthyphro. This short read by Plato predates Jesus by 399 years. It summarizes every great reason why its an awful thing to nest your morality in the concept of taking direction from divine command.
BTW, what kind of "GOD," has such an inferiority complex that he tortures people for eternity just because they didn't kiss his ass and worship him during a short window of 76-80 years? It seems your merely hedging your risk exposure on some possibility that you might go to hell.

I like how this picture has caused so much anger. Mostly from Christians. I know they feel offended but Jesus, you guys sure swear a lot. You also seem to really hate this guy for posting this picture. I thought you were supposed to forgive people? What you guys really should have posted is "well, I don't agree but you can have your opinion. I forgive you."
Also, I thought you guys were supposed to donate 10% of your income to the poor?

I agree. Im a christian myself. I personally dont take offense to this picture, as its not attacking my God directly, merely the people. And I think most of the people that are throwing tantrums, are pehaps the guilty party. And, I also find it amusing how they swear like pirates.
Just a few comments on your post, however. Yes, it is true that we should forgive, but only to the people that "repent" and seek forgiveness. And, yes and no. we are supposed to donate 10% to the church.
Regards.

Jesus Christ came to us so that we could have close and personal relation ship with God he came to teach us about spirituality not religion.
Religion divides where spirituality brings together.
Remember the man on the cross that hung beside Jesus who ask Jesus to remember him in death and Jesus assured him that he would be with him.
This man could do nothing for any body how would you judge him?
Do you have the right?

Listen if you are too lazy to work hard and earn a living then shut the fuck up. The unequal opportunities argument is absolute bullshit. Work hard. Get Good Grades and you can have money. Don't generalize the upper middle class as ungrateful. Those tat have money work for it. Get off your ass and do something with your life
what? dude im a libertarian. i think that those who can help themselves but choose not to shouldnt get help, and that we should help the needy cause we WANT to, not cause the government decides how much of our money goes where.

that is such bullshit. how can you focus on your grades when you go home to abusive parents? how about when you have a disability? And you totally ignored the "orphanage" portion of this picture. how about you think a little before you offend people, douchebag.

he is talking about people to lazy to work WE DO help the disabled and those that are abused we have child protection agencies and if the kid doesn't tell anyone then hes not taking any steps to help himelf if he doesn't tell anyone why hes not getting a bad grade hes just hurting himself more, there is nothing more we can do for him if he doesn't SAY ANYTHING. And those that are lazy and can help themselves but dont want to well thats they're problem.

Not all christians are like this. Just because someone is well off and affluent does not mean that they don't care about those in need. Jesus tells us to be the hands and feet of Jesus and that means different things to different people. Some may be called to work in shelters and some are called to share the gospel with a friend. Attending church is extremely important and just because christians do not serve the homeless or something similar every single day does not mean they don't care.
