This is from a science magazine in 1925. It predicted how the world would be in 1950

Spiral Escalators sound like a great idea, why don't we have those?
User avatar #86 to #76 - swimmingprodigy (06/02/2011) [-]
well kind of impossible for them to work. All an escalator does is the steps that you step on go upside down and come back up again under the steps. Kinda hard to do that in a circular fashion

All that could've been... yet this is what technology has evolved to.

Pic one is physically impossible, pic two is wasteful, pic three could be cool, pic four has happened and evolved further, pic five *could* happen, but schools don't get enough funding, pic six has almost happened, and pic seven is actually a bit too rural for NYC.

It's BACON taped to a ******* CAT

We are currently finding that there might be life on Mars. We have built telescopes that let us see the effects of a black hole at the center of the Milky Way. People are discovering how the universe works, and you're focused on bacon taped to a cat?

It's funny how fashion was not considered to change in 90 years. ^^

What you people fail to see is we HAVE ALL of that. Fire fighters do fly in helicopters and planes that drop massive amounts of water, Air Buss is ALMOST a flying city, and do not forget about the ISS, gas powered skates can be compared to electric scooter/jet skate board. next one would be the movies, next one a computer, the next one is computer run sewing machine, and the last one a APC or a tank eaisly. So you see we do have all this some slightly altered but still the same.

I think it's funny how they thought all of their technology would advance, but not their sense of fashion and common hair styles.

And back in the early 1900's people were obsessed with trying to fly properly. So naturally they thought in the future we'd have it down pat enough to use it in everyday jobs like it's nothing. Haha.

I don't see any point to the motor-powered roller blades and hovering boats, though.

It's slightly depressing that more than a decade after that we are still only just utilizing the ability to make video calls. (as seen in the fourth picture.)
