With "To know = to have sex with" the bible says "to lay" like, he laid with his wife and had his son, and in the Hebrew, untranslated version, it says "yada" rather than lay. So that's kinda normal. BUT it also uses "yada" in cases like "God knows/yada me..." so the hebrew word Yada means both to know and to have sex with :)

tl;dr: Hebrew is the same way
